The "I just bought/ordered/shipped/received my new iPhone 6/6 Plus" thread

Preparing for shipment.

Ordered just yesterday, and 24 hours later the status changed from "Processing items" to "Preparing for shipment" !! :D any idea how long it takes for them to "prepare" the shipment?

iPhone 6 64GB SG T-Mobile unlocked btw.

Should be a couple of days, at the latest. Although with this holiday, I don't know if it has delayed production. I've read that they are paying the workers a bunch of OT and keeping the production line rolling.

So my package departed Shanghai early Tues morning my time, and was in Osaka, Japan in the morning when I woke up. That's a first in my experience of ordering iPhones. Currently departed Japan and assuming it's on its way to Alaska right now. Scheduled delivery moved back to Friday, still hoping for Thursday.
 
I just ordered my iPhone 6 (Gray-64GB-ATT) from Apple.com... :D (on Tuesday, Sept. 30)

(I just went to my local Apple store at lunch, nothing :mad:)

iPhone 6 shipped
out for delivery Thursday Oct. 9

I just ordered a 6 and a 6+ today thru ATT. Ship date is 10/9-10/20 for the 6 and 11/7-11/18 for the 6+.

Both were early upgrades and the upgrade fee was waived.

If you are in "Preparing to Ship" then chances are your phone will be sent out shortly. AT&T, along with the other carriers are not having a good showing. I ordered the same phone as you on 9/26 and it is scheduled to be delivered on Friday. I placed the order on the Apple website.

I would keep the faith and I bet you will get your phone within a week. Fingers crossed!! :)
 
Got it!! Picked my 6 128GB SG up at Verizon just an hour ago.

Naturally I found a way to complicate things, but it's all ready and sorted out. Originally I ordered the 6+ on 9/12 at my local Verizon store and got a shipping date of 10/28 (later bumped up to 10/24). I visited several Apple Stores in the interim to play with the 6/6+ and had second thoughts about committing to a phablet so I called Verizon customer care and changed the pre-order to a regular 6. Easy peasy, right?

Ha! Nothing I do is ever easy. Turns out that when customer care makes the switch (instead of canceling the original pre-order and re-ordering the different model) the store loses credit for the sale. But the phone was still shipped to the Verizon store, throwing them into a tailspin from which it looked like they might not recover. How do they give me the phone if it's not in their inventory? And according to Verizon's system I was still getting a 6+, not the regular 6 they had sitting on the counter.

Fortunately there is a rep there who is always cool as a cucumber and can resolve anything. He called Verizon cs, got the original pre-order for the 6+ cancelled (should have been cancelled when I switched models) and also got the new phone added to the store's inventory. Not only do they then get credit again for the sale, but they can see it in their system. Boom. Done. It activated automatically when I powered it on and my old 5s de-activated.

I'm one smilin' mofo right now! :D

Just reserved my iPhone 6 Plus for pickup tomorrow. :D Got lucky that system showed out of stock near me and five minutes later showed some. :apple:
 
Fun story about trying to get the 6:

Yesterday (9/29), I went with my sister to a store about 20 miles away from where we live because the AT&T online store showed they had some of the 6's in stock...but only the 128GB Silver. We decided, what the hell, let's just take a crack at the new big storage option.

When we got there, however, there were like 15 people in line and the greeter guy told us to make appointments for tomorrow or it'd be about an hour wait. It was already like 7:30, so we left.

Checked today online for more stock and there were two more stores that had some in stock. I called and made a 1:30 appointment. Walked out with two new 128 Silvers. There were like 6 people waiting at the store where I made the appointment, too, so I'm glad I made the appointment. Guy said it'd be about 45 minutes - no time for that.

So glad to have the big storage option, seriously. Love watching movies. Congrats to all others who have ordered or already gotten theirs!

Did you get the 128 GB option because the 64 GB was out of stock or did you want 128 GB already? I wasn't gonna get the 128 but I decided to do so because 64 doesn't seem to come up at all around here.

Well, the phone from which I upgraded was the 32 GB 5s. I was thinking 64 would be all I needed, but like you, I couldn't really find one. I also would hate waiting a couple weeks for it, so I decided to try for the 128. I have lots of movies and music, so I justified it to myself that way. :D
 
Guys does Verizon send you an email right away when you went to the store and had it ordered? Like a confirmation order? I went to an Authorized Verizon store and the manager personally managed it for me but so far I haven't gotten an email nor has my dad (the account holder), my dads email address is the one linked to the primary account but nothing....

Anyone in a similar situation that might be able to tell me when I can expect the status to change? Are these ones up on the list for demand or does anyone know if maybe I can expect something soon? Staring at the word 'processing' and hitting refresh like a deer waiting to eat some headlights.

Where did you go to see that status? I'm on "My Verizon" on my computer. Or is it in your email? I ordered on 9/28 as well.....heh our iPhone's might be "pallet mates" lol.
