That's awesome putting my phone on will call!!!

I only get worried about will call since last year it caused a few phones to get delayed an extra day in Louisville. I took the day off already on Friday to wait for UPS. But I totally would do will call if I knew for a fact my phone wouldn't miss its flight.

Especially since if it does then I would have to wait for Monday.

Today i received the tracking and confirmation email, phone directly from sprint.

I ordered the phone on the 12th and received a shipped confirmation at 11:30am today.

my pending disappeared too but I called apple and they reassured me I'm good. Put your number in the reference tracking on myups and you can see your tracking numbers.

Does this only work with APPLEs order number? I ordered through carrier

I just remembered one thing right now:
I preordered FIFA15 like 1 month ago, it's going to be official released on 23th of september. They charged me 2$ when I did the preorder and after 4-5 days the charge dissapeard. So that might be the case with our gone charges. Nothing to worry I guess.

Waiting a few days isn't the end of the world. others have to wait until late October or well into November for their phone. Hakuna matata!

I know all the reasons and the big push but from a customer seat it is a little disconcerting because there are many that have not done this before and these forums get flooded with worry and concern folks get there phones. I totally get that as i want mine as well. But they don't really know the process like some of us old hats that been down this road before on launch day. Not complaining but they could have done better here. Its certainly not Apples first rodeo

Might be good I agree but I don't want anything free from them. MacPro maybe but they have been giving out freebies at just about every launch. Its good PR and it does make people feel better and thats great, my hats off to them for that.

But right now if I was a new buyer never ordered from apple online before for a phone i would be concerned there is no tracking data too. I know better for sure but I have been there. This is a matter of Apples preparation and they still lack in this area.

I just called apple as mine still said preparing for shipping,
They said my phone left the warehouse to the courier but they have not sent back any tracking info.
They assured me its in motion tho, so that's good!

My date for delivery is 19/9-23/9 in Canada anyways (I'm right on the edge of zone 1) ... Fingers crossed for Friday lol

I have an 11pm departure on 9/15 from ZhengZhou but no return and that's my last activity. Also, the pending charge on my credit card disappeared.

I think there are a couple of us in this exact same situation - 11pm, 9/15 departure last activity.

I'm not worried about the pending charge being dropped off, but I find it odd that Apple/UPS would do this. It just seems like there's at least a little risk in processing a high priced item for delivery only to drop the charge, if even to charge it back later.

Same exact model, same exact updates. Your UPS tracking, like mine shows Next Day Air Saver not World Ease. If you use the UPS app to track your package you will probably see it is in Mount Juliet, TN with mine! I don't expect any update till late Thursday when they start overnighting them out.

I have the same on both of my orders. Called apple because I saw that the pending charges disappeared and the lady assured me I will receive both by friday. We should see an update on the order either tonight or tomorrow.

I thought about it like this.

If I comes on 9/19, that's great you get a iPhone on launch day.

If it gets delayed a day, you can call Apple and complain. I'm sure they will give you a free case. So you get your iPhone a day later, with a free case!

Both scenarios have its positives and negatives. I would be okay with either. That is why I had UPS hold my delivery for pickup.

Yours is probably like mine and shipping stateside. If you have UPS My Choice it actually shows that info. Both phones I ordered are shipping from:

APPLE LO15 NPI
RIALTO, CA, US

and both are shipping next day air, so I don't think I'll see any movement until tonight/tomorrow.

I don't think its that they're not keeping up, I think its that the devices haven't shipped yet. There are loads of distribution hubs around the states and by the looks of things many phones were already sitting in these hubs and will be shipped directly from these hubs, hence why shipping info isn't available.

Pending charge - A companies cc processor places a 'HOLD' on your card for a particular amount. If it's a debit card this hold shows as pending. With credit cards you almost never see holds. How long this hold lasts varies depending on the processor. Some holds last 3 - 5 days some a week, some longer. When the companies batch the the transactions and send them to the processor the hold (if still present) is then released and replaced with the charge.

A lot of times when you preorder stuff depending on the company they place a temporary hold, to confirm the funds this hold or pending transaction disappears about a week later. They then actually process and charge the cards once the item ships.

Be careful, even though the hold dropped and it's no longer pending do not spend the money because if the process and it rejects they will cancel the order.
