Just talked to a few different people.
If you are still showing "preparing for shipment" it is most likely already in the US and depending on the hub it is shipping form you will not see anything until Thursday when they are prepared for Friday delivery.

Most people who received tracking numbers are shipping in from China OR the hub for the version they ordered is transferring it around.

Guess we will see Friday.

Also, the charge if removed will appear again today or tomorrow once on the truck.....

Thanks for the info... this eased my mind a bit lol

will call 09/20 not 09/19???

An attempt to deliver your iPhone will be made on but not before Friday, September 19th as required by Apple. Drivers make deliveries between 9 am and 7 pm local time.

Here is some important information on the delivery of your iPhone:

A signature is NOT required.
The driver is authorized to release these packages in secure locations out of sight of the general public.
UPS cannot change the delivery address
If you need to change the address on your package, there are 2 options available to you:

You may place the package on Will Call. Will Call is not available for Sprint Customers
a) By placing a Will Call, the package will be available for pickup from the UPS Customer Center on September 20th.

b) A Customer Service Representative will be able to find the closest location and schedule your Will Call.

Only your shipper can make a change to delivery address. If you need to have your iPhone delivered to an alternate address please contact your shipper.

I don't understand. When they say Will Call is not for Sprint customers do they mean those that ordered straight from Sprint or do they mean sprint phones that were ordered from anyone (including Apple)? I ordered from Apple and currently have that package on Will Call to be picked up on the 19th. At the time it said nothing about waiting until the 20th and my date on UPS is still the 19th after that.

i wanted to do will call but since I'm not going to be available on 09/20 maybe i won't don't want to risk having the phone there throughout the weekend.

lower 48 baby!

China Cargo 271 is on the ground!

Oh yeah!

64GB Plus Space Gray ordered @ 3:40am EST on iPad Apple Store App.

Finally got my tracking #!
I had ordered a 64gb space grey 6 Plus through the Apple app.
I got in a bit earlier than most at 12:15 and was stuck in processing a while after everyone got their #.

Finally my phone number brought up a tracking # through refrence tracking!... My iPhone is coming from within the states... not from China and delivers Friday. :D

Not saying I don't agree with you. Whenever new products are launched, there are bound to be some shortages. However a company of Apple's size, definitely does have the resources (if they wanted to) to have enough for opening weekend. For them to say that "Pre-Orders completely exceed expectations" is bull. Nothing has indicated otherwise that a launch will fall flat on its face, therefore they should be conservative in production. Whether or not this is false supply constraint, I have no proof of anything. Below is my order history from last year vs. this year.

Ordered two days after launch (September 20th)
iPhone 5s 64G Gold: Ordered on September 22 - Delivered October 18th (2013)

Ordered one day after pre-orders began (September 12)
iPhone 6 64G Gold: Ordered on September 13 - (Estimated) Delivery October 17-23 (2014)

It's just frustrating because it seems as if they learned nothing from last year's fiasco.

I was actually thinking about this too - assuming that they plan correctly, etc, a company like Apple of course would be able to fulfill every order that comes in on launch weekend (I understand the engineering process too though, and to do this they might have to cut a corner or two - I'm just saying it's not impossible). However, remember that it is actually *good* for Apple to run out of supply (to an extent) on launch - they love to issue the press release that says "we're thrilled with the demand, which has shut down the internet as a whole there are so many people ordering iphones" lol. That's press/advertising money can't buy. I actually do have sympathy for you though - I very much understand how easy it is to look at the alarm clock at 3 in the morning when you have to be up at 6 and say "eh I'll do it later", only to see people talking about shipping notices on this forum and regretting you didn't get up :(

Got Tracking numbers on both orders after putting in my phone number in the reference tracking. :D

Have any Canadian orders been able to find tracking via reference numbers?

I tried searching for my phone number(s) as well as my order number, but nothing.

My case shipped with two reference numbers that don't relate to anything.

My package has been in Acnhorage showing a departure scan of 6:15 pm on 9/16, and UPS doesn't show an arrival scan since then. Does this mean that the package hasn't actually left Alaska, and it's waiting on clearance from Customs?

Mine too, on same plane. My bet is the plane landed but yet to be unloaded yet into a Ups facility where they get scanned. They don't get scanned until UPS has them at a distribution center.

Other option stuck in customs but I doubt it highly . Alaska is custom clearing center and a plane full of iPhones is easy to clear.

It departed, but didn't land...This means you 6+ didn't make it. RIP

Stuck in Alaska

Mine is also, according to the UPS lady I spoke with this morning its probably already in the central hub in the lower 48, they just havent checked it in.

It will probably leave that hub sometime today and delivered to your local UPS hub sometime tomorrow for delivery on Friday, so everything should be fine.

Not such good news for my iPhone case which i ordered the next morning, originally stated for delivery on the 19th, no slipped to the 22nd. Thank God I ordered another case from amazon that should be here today.

I found my tracking number using track by reference on Monday. My phone was in Zheng Zhou China. On Monday I had a departure scan from Zheng Zhou and then 15 minutes later an arrival scan in the same city. Since then it's been siting in Zheng Zhou. Is this normal? Apple still didn't give me a tracking number via their own website.

Checked my Serial # finally..

The "I just bought/ordered/shipped/received my new iPhone 6/6 Plus" thread

Ugh the anxiety. I swear my phone exploded into thin air.

Anyone else have the 9/15 11pm departure scan in ZhengZhou with no update since?

I know the phones can be shipped the night before and make friday delivery but I would breathe a lot easier if I knew my phone was in the Western Hemisphere.

Wow... Your phone will get there. Why anxiety over a phone? Relax!

No matter how cruel it is to your customers, I suppose any publicity is good. Apple is the master of "we sold record numbers of iPhone in X hours... so now there's outrageous wait times".

Thank you very much, Good Sir! It's nice to see that there's still some decent people on the internet. :)

When previously using Will Call to pick up my delivery, I have had no problems picking it up before it even got on the truck for first delivery, as long as I requested it 24 hours prior to it entering my local UPS hub.

I have confirmed with UPS that I will be able to pick up my delivery on the morning of the 19th, as long as the delivery timetable remains on schedule.
