Like the rest of you, my wife and I have 2 6's coming, hers silver from Alaska and my space grey from Tennessee. My problem is I need to pre sign and I can only do that through apple. But apple is still showing, "preparing for shipment", to be at my home on the 19th. The last thing I want to see is a sticker on my door saying they will re-deliver.
Why can't I pre-sign yet??

Use UPS My Choice its free. You can do all kinds of things to deliveries scheduled to arrive to you, including telling them where to leave package, asking them to leave with a neighbor, hold it at the hub or take it to a local UPS store.

I'm surprised there aren't any FedEx people on here this year, it seems like everyone here has packages shipping for UPS. Has Apple dropped FedEx as a shipping partner.

The only packages I have seen here that have shipped from FedEx are the ones that were ordered on AT&T and Verizon sites.

Did anyone order from Apple and have FedEx shipping?

Logged on to UPS account to find my tracking numbers

Apple isn't posting tracking info because they don't want us tracking until the day of delivery.

2 space gray 6s coming from TN. Arrived in Louisville this enening meaning it should be in Saint Louis by tomorrow AM. A normal package in Louisville tonight would be delivered to me tomorrow.

Apple has asked UPS to hold til Friday?

So what would happen if I went to local UPS tomorrow afternoon with my drivers license and demanded all packages they were holding?

Could they deny me? I've paid for the phones and they don't belong to UPS or Apple for that matter -- They belonged to me when they were paid for.

Thoughts? I think they would have give them to me.

But many of us here in Canada seem to have gotten invoices quickly from Apple.com with shipping info near the bottom noting date of shipment, but no tracking info.

Nope I didn't get an invoice and my card hasn't been charged but I ordered about 1am once I could get on the app store so I definitely should have a phone. Have a serial number though. There's a Canada thread too check that out as well: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1773803/

because then anybody can ambush the truck driver. demanding the package etc.. lol

Bingo! Do you think UPS wants people knowing the route the truck takes so they can have a group of bad guys ambush the truck when they know it's at a vulnerable location?

I was thinking the same thing. My phone is on the way to my state. Should be in tomorrow. I'm off tomorrow and work Friday.

Apple is the one withholding the information.

UPS is posting the tracking information as they always do, bravely refusing to give into the fear of imaginary anarchy apparently griping you. That is how I got mine. Anyone with a free UPS account can log in right now and find their package, set up tracking and delivery notifications, pre-sign, etc.

It's a crazy modern world we live in.

They are talking about live realtime tracking of a truck in transit.

UPS tracking information is posted when scanned at departure point and delivery point. It does not provide live tracking in while in transit to the public for the exact reasons they mentioned. In fact if there is a whole truck full of phones it will probably have 2 drivers at least 2 unmarked escorts until it leaves the central hub.

The trucking company I worked for used to haul high value freight like PS3's, Xbox 360's, Tv's, etc at christmas time and would use these precautions when moving to load to ensure there was no hijacking taking place.

I just signed up for UPS My Choice and was able to track my :apple: iPhone 6 shipment based on either my e-mail or phone number provided when ordering.

My phone is currently in Louisville, KY after spending some time in Nashville, TN. My delivery date is still showing 9/19 for Chicago, IL.

It should be noted that Apple appears to be doing all they can to make sure deliveries for 9/19 go off without a hitch. They are using UPS Next Day Air and apparently getting the new iPhones to their destination for local delivery a day in advance.

:apple: = :)

I'm talking about UPS isn't going to publicly post the delivery routes their trucks take. Yes, they'll tell me the phone is on the delivery truck and left the warehouse from XYZ location, but they're not going to tell me which street the truck is at now. UPS doesn't solely exist to serve Apple; they have other merchandise on their trucks to protect and it's not unheard of for a truck to get ambushed, particularly if going through a not so great neighborhood. http://abc7chicago.com/archive/6925431/

my phone went from TN to hanging out in KY! Working its way to Illinois!

Here's a question for you shipping experts: UPS has a hub at the airport in Rockford, IL, a town about 70 miles NW of Chicago. I live in Chicago. Why wouldn't my iPhone fly into Rockford and transit to Chicago? Instead, it is shipping from Louisville via Nashville. It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

I've learned that the routes for iPhone Pre-Orders (atleast for the past 4 years) NEVER make any sense to us buyers

No idea, mines coming to the St. Louis area...not sure where's it's going after KY.

Is it seriously too much to ask to get my iPhone just one day early? Come on...! :):rolleyes::rolleyes:

I actually got an email from ups saying I have a package arriving tomorrow, totally freaked out, then realize it was after midnight. So technically tomorrow is Friday

It's on a big pallet. For whatever reason they ship the big pallets from bigger hubs to other bigger hubs where they can be stored until Thursday night or early Friday AM.

i'm excited!!! just got an email saying my phone has been shipped.

Live in Toronto, Canada. Shipped via UPS.

Incoming is a 128gb Silver iPhone 6 plus.

hopefully I get it on the 19th or 20th. heading out of town on the 21st and not coming back till October..... and iOS8 looks great on my 5S btw.

I got one email from Apple for one phone but none for the other. But now they have different tracking numbers and turns out they where on different flights from China. I'm confused now but watching it . I sold my 5s so now I really need Friday delivery

----------

Spoke too soon, the second tracking from Apple just came through. Both phones are coming from Alaska . Nothing further from there but I finally got the official emails from Apple
