The "I just bought/ordered/shipped/received my new iPhone 6/6 Plus" thread

Has anyone tried to set up the "2 hour delivery window" through UPS? Is Apple allowing it? I am taking off on a trip tomorrow afternoon and am really hoping that my phone arrives in the morning. This could be a way to ensure that it does.
 
In Canada here. I called to ask if I could pick it up tomorrow instead of having it delivered and the lady said it was expected to be delivered on Monday the 22nd, wtf!! Order was processed and ready for UPS on the 15th in Burlington, Ontario, is it possible that they haven't picked it up yet?!

Have you called UPS to see what they said? They told me delivery on the 22nd...

I have one phone that left Alaska at 6.15 on the 16 th that is in Louisville now. The other left at 7:36 a day latter the 17th that is still in Alaska but I'm sure its in the air somewhere or at a hub just not showing in the lower 48. The second one is mine which is the 128 gb unit the first is my sons 64gb. Worst case since I'll be without a phone late today is his should show up for sure and I'll just use that. My 128 gb was order a day after his on Sunday. But I'm sure they will both make it.
 
Debating on what to do tomorrow. Seems like a lot of people are doing the will call thing so that for sure means a line at UPS...but my delivery says "by end of day" and I'm not sure when I'll actually get it 'cause UPS comes twice in my neighborhood..once in the morning around 10AM and then again at 5PM....for my iPhone 5, it came at 10:20AM 'cause it said "by 10:30AM" on the estimated delivery but not the case this time..hmmm decisions, decisions

what time did ur alaska 6:15pm departure. scanned at louisville?

I don't think that's entirely true. My case originally showed Burlington, ON on packagemapper.com, only to change to this eventually:

I suspect the same will happen with our phones.

ahh crap really?..thanks for busting my bubble. I dont want to call UPS. They dont know anything more than what the site shows..im saying that based on my experience with them in the past.I'll still hope it arrives tomorrow.

I'm trying to remain hopeful like you. We should know by tonight at the latest when it'll actually be delivered. Come on UPS, update your damn site with out delivery information!!
 
I have to add - as somebody with zero information from ups other than a label created - i really do want to know why on earth UPS (and others) offer tracking like this. It's such a waste of time as we end up more stressed out than if we didn't ! They tend to update a status hours after the actual update and that, if at all. When you call them they read what's on their screen - usually a variation on a theme of what we can see, or they just make it up.

Surely in this of age they actually know exactly what is going on and should be able to transmit that. They just don't want to for some reason. Perhaps it's a security thing. Who knows.

When you sign up for holding at will call, they give you the location and time to pickup. You can print out a sheet that has the address, hours and map with directions.
 
Anyone still "preparing for shipment"? I pre-ordered iPhone 6 64gb on 9/12 with Apple Reservation and haven't seen any traction since Sunday.

Tried tracking by reference with no success, and there is nothing on support profile. I called Apple yesterday was assured everything was fine, but I find it kind of strange for them to assure everything is fine when there is zero proof anywhere that this order is being processed.

Anyone else in the same boat?

yes i have that paper I'm just scared that it might cause it to delay i have heard rumors that it can happen

I might call them today. I can't figure out with ups my choice where to do hold for pickup. Maybe because I'm on a IPad. I look on my computer.

Rob I would think since it has not hit Your hub yet it should not be a issue as it comes in when scanned it will come up for hold.

i guess right now I'm just freaking out for no reason. i should know more tonight or tomorrow morning once everything is in place hopefully!

Well, it has shipped. UPS is still showing two tracking numbers and two shipments but I have only been charged for one phone, so I don't know what's going on with that. I can expect it by the end of the business day, tomorrow.

I was worried about that too but apparently as long as it tells you that your pickup date is 9-19 you are okay. Mine is being held and it is showing tracking (departed Alaska...taking forever to get to Louisville), has a pickup date of 9-19 and In transit-on time. It should be fine (fingers crossed).

I'm just waiting for the one phone to hit a hub in the lower 48 than I'm going to put them on hold for pickup.

Now my wife is talking upgrading. Hell I could be sitting at a AT&T store tonight. I thought this year I would avoid it. Dang
