The "I just ordered / bought / got my new MBP" threads part 2

Finally pulled the trigger on my first Mac. Started off interested in the 13" C2D MBP, entertained the idea of the 13" MBA, but ended up buying the 15" i7 MBP based on specs. Ordered early Tues morning, 8/31. I'm hoping it get's delivered before the weekend, as Labor Day is on Monday and will push back my delivery. Oh well. Took advantage of the student discount and added a free 8GB iPod Touch, but passed on the printer rebate. I'm hyped and can't wait to play with my new toys. Got some accessories too.

my dad ordered the same MBP as you (same spec) on the 21st August and it still hasn't arrived...but if you live in the US it shouldn't take as long as it does for the UK. :)

My i7 took 6 days for delivery-ordered the 17th delivered the 23rd. Depends on where in the US you are. With Labor Day holiday, it may add a day into the delivery process. Mine was ordered in the mid-afternoon, so an early day order may make a difference in China's initiation site.
 
I LOVE my uMBP!!!

Coming from using windows/pcs my whole life, in the two months ive owned my uMBP it still amazes me how great this laptop is! Definitely worth every penny, and i know im still not using it to its full potential! That is all :D

I rang up TNT today and the lovely lady on the other end said that it should be arriving tomorrow or at the VERY latest friday! but it should've been with me todayy :| oh well hopefully it'll come to both of us tomorroww:)

Oh man, that would be so good! I can't log on to the order status at the moment to check. I hope this is true!!!
 
Managed to get on tracking. Now says:
"Preparing handover to final carrier"

So it's not actually with the courier or even the carrier yet. You reckon we'll still get it tomorrow?
 
Hello all. Thanks to reading this board, it has finally persuaded me to see the error of my ways and join the Mac bandwaggon. I ordered up (or pulled the trigger as you lot like to say) a 15" i7 with the 500 gig 7200 rpm drive with 8 gigs of RAM and the anti-glare screen. I look forward to being part of the club :)
 
Update
Ordered early morning on 8/31. On 9/1, I got an email saying there was a problem with my payment, so I had to call my credit card company and verify. Called Apple Support, it took some time but they authorized the order. Sucks because it probably pushed the timing of my order back a bit. Now my Apple Order Status says "Prepared For Shipment," Delivers Sept 2-9. I'm crossing my fingers hoping to get it by Friday, so I can play with it throughout the weekend and before school starts.

Question
"Prepared For Shipment" - What can I expect?

Shipped. Now to play the waiting game. I'm gonna go crazy tracking this thing. China is ahead of US time, so it's possible that my MacBook Pro is shipping back in time and will arrive ahead of schedule? lol I hope so! Just read on FedEx that, "All shipment travel activity is displayed in local time for the location" - Cool

I got that too...I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't come today Nick.
If we're unlucky they'll come tomorrow :)
 
Can't Wait

hi guys,

I'm long time reader but first time poster. Over the last 6 months or so i've been debating whether or not to get a Mac for my next laptop. Last Friday I bit the bullet and ordered myself a new 15" i7 MBP, 500GB 7200RPM HDD, HR Glossy. I just logged on to ups to check my order and to my delight is says:

CUMBERNAULD, GB 02/09/2010 9:56 OUT FOR DELIVERY

Now i'm sitting waiting like a kid for christmas morning to come. Hope you guys that are awaiting your new MBP get yours today too! :D
 
Just placed the order this morning for

MBP 15" 2.66ghz
2.66GHz Intel Core i7
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x2GB
256GB Solid State Drive
SuperDrive 8X DL
MBP 15 HR Antiglare WS Display

Anyone know what the UK's current lead times are roughly?
 
I'm guessing we could get it tomorrow, if it was to be delivered today it would say out for delivery. If not tomorrow, do UPS or TNT deliver on weekends? I always thought they did.
Otherwise, I'm guessing Monday, which is my estimate anyway.

EDIT:
Just checked now, it's changed to "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule". I guess this means tomorrow then! :D

can anyone else confirm this?!

really!? mines only just changed from preparing handover to carrier today. Oh well, I'll guess we'll find out soon, if it's not tomorrow, I assume it'll be monday (which is my estimated time for now)

if it is monday then i'll have to get a train down to dorset! :( It's the most upsetting frustrationn :(
 
Whassup everyone? Newbie here (not new to mac, but new to this site...i work on a mac)

Anyway I just bought a new macbook



17" MacBook Pro Unibody 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; anti-glare screen, 320GB, etc...

what you think? i got it at TekServe. Unfortunately it comes with 10.5.8...what would you recommend? should I upgrade to snow leopard? or just stick with leopard? (I work on 10.4 and i have no complaints)
