I just received my 13" MBP tonight. It took one week from online order to delivery. It is my very first laptop, but not my first Mac...I bought a 27" iMac in July. I'm still trying to adjust to using the trackpad...I guess it would be the same as learning to use any laptop.

Pulled the trigger on
MBP 15.4/2.66/CTO

2.66GHz Intel Core i7
8GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x4GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
SuperDrive 8X DL
MBP 15"HR Antiglare WS Display
Dilivery is Sept. 8th -14
and a Free 8gb iPod which i'm giving to my middle nephew.

Can't Wait!!
After MUCH debate I went with the WS Antiglare due to I will be using Photoshop and Final Cut Pro for school work and the glare after 2 hours on my POS Dell that I have hurts my eyes.

New owner here and so far I love it! I migrated over from PC, like most n00bs. I went into the Apple store and purchased a 13" MBP and got a free iTouch and free HP Photo printer. Sweet deal! Also used my student discount.

My very first mac ever, that's why I'm on the forums to learn everything I can from you guys. :D

I finally pulled the trigger on a MBP. My old PowerBook G4 is still going strong, it's just beat up, sluggish and won't run the apps I need anymore. Figured it was time to upgrade. I will probably keep it around as a guest computer, or use it as a "netbook" (only without the suckyness of netbooks).

I was debating between the 15 and 17 for a long time, but I finally decided to go with the 15. It felt more natural to me, light weight (more so than the PB I have), and would fit in my nice leather bag.

CTO with Core i7, the 500 GB 7200rpm HDD, and the Hi-Res Anti-Glare display. Pretty stoked. Can't wait to actually get it.

New to the mac world.

I am also a first timer when it comes to mac computers. I have had multiple ipods, but this is my first leap in terms of computer OS's. Decided to give macs a chance after many years of negligence. ;)

Specs:

MBP 15" i7 2.66ghz. Added Hi-Res screen upgrade also.

Can anyone tell me do you get any updates to your shipment?

Im used to the DELL website of you can track your order through production, manufacture etc etc.

When i go to apples site and check the status all it says is a ETA of delivery?

Wow ok placed an order on Thursday last week, custom 15" Mac Pro I7 and its SHIPPED ALREADY TODAY! lol.

Anyone know what carrier service they use so i can track on there website?

Mat

I guess I can finally join this thread too. I ordered the 15" i7 on Saturday. It's all standard apart from I upgraded to the 7200rpm HDD.

It's not shipped yet and is estimating arrival either Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I'm hoping it might come a little faster but realistically I guess that sounds right. :)

I feel your pain. Has your date changed at all since you ordered? I ask because minus the highres screen our orders are the same. I ordered on the 4th and it estimates delivery between the 14th and 15th. Surely a high res screen doesn't require that much extra time?

Like you my ETA is 17 Sep, 2010 - 20 Sep, 2010, cant beleive it takes that long just to give to a carrier lol, unless that is they are not built in the UK ?

I think they are built in China, then shipped to either Holland or Dublin for UK orders!

Ah freakin' hell, I'm thinking of getting the exact same upgrade, 7200 rpm HD and Hi Res screen. But after seeing your estimated delivery date, I might just buy the stock i7 with no upgrade, but I'll probably kick myself :(

What does that actually mean lol surely it was in transit to you (customer) all along lol.

I imagine so although sadly not for me, I've just taken ages saving up. :D

botchok5 - I ordered the HDD upgrade (no high res though my eyes are bad enough as it is hehe). I placed that on Saturday and they say it should get to me Tues/Wed next week. So that's not too bad.

New owner of a MBP

So I own a PC repair business and after fixing someones HP she told me that she has a Macbook pro that she doesn't like. So I look at it and of corse fall in love. She said that she would love to sell it and would ask $700....NICE. So I offer to put it up on my website and do a consignment deal. She agreed to give me 30% of what it sales for. After getting it home and playing with it my wife reminds me that it is about time to update her laptop cause it is almost dead. So I sell it to my wife for $700-30% which means we just paid $490 for a 17" Macbook pro 2.4, 2GB RAM. Love it! Can't wait to play on it some more when I get home!

Yeah that's what I thought!! I gather that the macbook is in transit to the courier and normally takes 2 days from this part!!! I bloody hope so!
