The "I just ordered / bought / got my new MBP" threads part 2

Did you put your tracking number in on the UPS site? That's how I'm getting all my info at least.

Sadly I've realised mine isn't in Cologne. 🙁 (Did seem too good to be true!) I don't know what documention that is but location is back to Shanghi and intransit.
 
Colour me confused. Top one is the most recent update. Is it just clearing customs before arrival? I didn't know that was possible.

Woooo, mine just arrived. Posting off it now! My word this is sexy!!! What a great looking and greatly built product.

One issue, I have 2 quite large and quite deep scratches next to my trackpad. I've tried rubbing them off to no avail. Any ideas on what to do and where to send a complaint too?

What a shame about the scratches 🙁, are they deep or really light? any chance of a pic?

Im still getting so confused here lol i go to my apple shipment status and all i see is :
Carrier Tracking Number
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.
Assigned Carrier

And its been this way since Sunday 🙁
 
I would say they are about 2 inches long. I'm trying to get pictures but it's hard to get decent ones. I will suppose I need pics to prove to apple in my complaint mail.
 
Sigh... Can someone tell me why UPS sucks so much?

It seems to differ from person to person, but mine was ready to ship Tuesday night. The it shipped overnight whilst I was in bed. Saw this status at about 9am and I had a tracking number mid-morning. So I'm not sure how long it took but it should be less than 24 hours.

Ok, thanks. Hmmm...refurbs are refurbed in California, right? Maybe I'll get it sooner than I thought.
 
Not entirely sure, this is my first MBP order. 🙂 Someone else might have the answer though.

It seems my laptop will be leaving Shanghi sometime tonight as it's now been through 2 departure scans. I'll keep posting updates on it's progress as I'm sure someone might find the info useful when waiting for their's.
 
Picked up a MBP 15" Core i7 HR/AG today and haven't gotten off of it yet!

I love it.

Buying an SSD and some RAM in the coming days.

Screen is great. No discoloration, stuck pixels, yellowing or anything.
 
Guys can anyone help me out here, i got an email from Apple that my MBP was shipped on Sunday and since then my tracking page shows this:


And since is how it has stayed since then and its now 4 days later :s, is this a problem or do i call them to get a UPS number to see where it is in the world?

Well under the bit that says "Carrier Tracking Number" I have a number that I took and copied onto the UPS site. However yours is a little different. I got that number a few hours after my MBP shipped.

Ok worrying 🙁 i got the email 4 days ago telling me its shipped lol. Have you got yours yet? What spec what it? and when did you order? are you in the UK
 
I wouldn't worry too much.

I am in the UK. I ordered on Saturday (4th). I don't have mine yet but I've tracked it over the last 24 hours and it's left Shanghi and is currently in Kazakhstan of all places! If it follows the same pace as other people's orders I think it should pass through Cologne at some point today. My estimated delivery was next Tues/Wed but my delivery date has disappeared at the moment (not sure if that's good or bad).

I ordered the macbook pro 15" i7 and the only upgrade I made was the slightly faster hard drive.

I know some people who added the high res screen had a slightly later arrival date than I did. However that doesn't apply to you if yours has shipped already.
 
Ok just phoned them and they told me it left Shanghai on Sunday, and I will not be able to get further tracking until it enters the UK as i have a bag also to be delivery so until the items both "merge" you cannot track, annoying as i like to see like you where it is in the world lol.
 
Oh that is annoying! Although if yours shipped Sunday it should be ahead of where mine is so fingers crossed you don't have too much longer to wait. When did they originally estimate delivery?

Agreed, I'm quite enjoying watching what route it takes to get to me. Sadly this littlr laptop is already better travelled than I am! 😀

17th-20th September, but the guy on the phone said it should beat that estimate easily 🙂

Shipped FedEx Ground from Lewisberry, PA. If I get lucky it will be here tomorrow. They've been known to deliver Saturday, though!
 
Just to give you an update on the complaint I was filing with Apple in regards to scratches on my Macbook.

I rang them today and a very polite American chap phoned me back about an hour later due to a technical issue. He has offered to ship me a free case and a £25 iTunes voucher.

Apple just went up in my estimations massively!

@Matutu - Mine was at that stage for 4 Days starting on the 3rd. My original estimate was 14th-16th Sept and got mine yesterday (8th). My tracking number came on the 7th so just sit tight dude!!

Matthew you are not on your own. I ordered mine on the same day, and I got "access" to the shipping page on the same day.



I phoned them today (because I am impatient lol) and they said all they can tell me is its somewhere between the delivery address and the shanghi factory. 🙁

I also called them yesterday and got told the same thing 🙁. Think they will be delivered Wednesday/Thursday next week would be my guess.

Was hoping they would get to the depots today though so i could pop there tomorrow morning and pick it up haha.
 
The more I read about how long it takes to deliver the more tempted I am to either get one from an Apple Store personally or order from Amazon. Are there any clear benefits to ordering online via Apple? Or is it just the same product in the same box regardless of where you get it from?
 
Well if you order from apple you have the option to upgrade certain things, but if you just want the standard build then I agree - buy instore.

Mine has left Cologne overnight and my delivery date has moved up to Monday. Not bad! Hope it stays that way.
