The "I just ordered / bought / got my new/refurb MBP" thread [Merged]

After rocking a PowerBook G4 1.67ghz for 5 years (it finally gave up the ghost last September) I've finally bought a Macbook Pro, 2 actually. 1 for work and one for por...home use.

Both are base 13" models, but my home unit has 8gb of RAM and a 750gb scorpio black HDD.

I cant believe how fast this thing is! Yesterday I had 3 1080p youtube videos streaming (only have flash installed on my work machine), a streaming movie from lovefilm, word, excel, safari, firefox, outlook, vuze and time machine all running at the same time and it didnt even break a sweat!

The best part is tomorrows my birthday!! :D:D best present I've ever given myself ;)

What was scheduled arrival date?

FedEx was suppose to deliver mine on the 4th but they delayed departure from China so it might only be in Toronto on Monday, 7th, because of the weekend. I regret paying to express shipping.

Me Too. Mine is now out for delivery here in Phoenix. Ordered last Friday and went Fed X all the way. Sorry but not a UPS fan on deliveries.

I'm all ready for it
 
i want to recommend you the iOS devices app TrackThePack.

I remember before the new MacBook Pros came out there was a rumor that the 15" and the 17" will have a larger trackpad. Was that true??
 
Better place that MBP order fast before that iPad 2 announcement breaks... who knows how bogged down that order processing department will be when that breaks out.

I did it and leaped

I'm now typing on my first ever mac. It's the baseline 13" macbook pro that has just been released with an i5 sandy bridge processor.

its probably gonna take all day to install, gotta dl the client. i have the 2.2ghz i7 256ssd and 1gb 6750
 
My first Mac a 13" 2.7Ghz i7 arrived this morning! 2 days early and to my great delight as I wasn't going to be around the day it was supposed to be collected! It is a million times faster than my old laptop and after a day of transferring itunes and getting used to the new OS I can definitely say I'm in love!
 
Received mine today at 10:20.. Fedex had estimated 10:30.. so yay to them for being a whole 10 minutes early! Oh and my mbp... looks great! Already installing apps, but man that 17" is a beauty. I have a late 2006 15" mbp.. but the 17" screen is so much nicer.
 
Just got my high end 15" MBP!!! I'm pumped.... it's soooo clean. I went from PC -> Mac -> Back to PC for a half a year (no idea why I ever left) -> Mac

Ahhh, it's good to be home.
