It's hilarious! They thought it'd be a simple one-time return, and now they have to go a week+ at a time without an iphone each time they return them. Their simple plan just turned out to be more complicated than they thought. That's why it's funny. But somehow I think you already knew that.

At the rate this is going, it probably makes far more sense for the black to white'ers to just sell whatever black phone they have on craigslist or something and buy a white at full price.
At least then they won't muck up their upgrade eligibility.

The people who are waiting for the phone they want before they actually buy probably don't suffer the same affliction as those of you who just HAD to have it NOW NOW NOW. So, they'll be just fine. For the people who had to have it NOW NOW NOW, I don't think waiting for a white iPhone instead of getting a black one immediately and returning it for a white iPhone when it comes out would have made it any easier on them.

It really isn't that big a deal for me. I'm bummed I won't get white, sure. But I don't have such an ego that my self esteem depends upon the phone I have like it does with those who were swapping. Karma is a bitch though. HA.
