Vikas Soni-- and anyone else who has moved from a G4 iBook: what do you think of the wide screen? I dont watch many movies on my G4 ibook and I think I would miss the screen height, particularly in web browsing-- does the resolution upgrade make up for that? I've never been much of a fan of widescreens on laptops-- thanks

Browsing is a little better on this 13" WS than the 12" IMO. I`d prefer WS to regular sized screen anytime.

Lets take an eg. I have Safari open and still can see atleast 30% part of firefox(which I keep open for my Gmail account). So going to firefox is even simpler. I can click on it, check it and back to safari in an instant. Such thing was kinda difficult on the iBook. I had to use expose/CMD+TAB instead.
And yes the extra resolution really helps. Here`s attaching a screen grab. See it for your self.

i love mine... because mainly i am so relieved that there is no moo or heat or anything. in fact dead quiet compared to my vaio which is clunking away in the background and well... the heat, no worse than the vaio and will come useful in the winter.

and then after a whole day of not figuring it out and asking for help on the forum i found out how to download and delete apps. neat! much better than xp!

the glossy screen do- dah is great.

so basically all that negatvie press meant that i was expecting teh worse and got this amazing thing!

love it love it love it

hmm... it mooed when webcamming in amsn... oh well. how often do i webchat??

Im hoping to join you guys soon. But just out of curiosity, have any of you swapped out your Hard-Drive yet? Apparently it's really easy to do, and I don't want to buy the biggest, most expensive one from Apple when I can get a bigger one cheaper somewhere else and install it myself.

I love my MacBook....It makes my naughty parts tingle......and burn????!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Removing plastic from vent now....

Max.

I just used mine for the first day and apart from white laptop getting dirty easily, I'll have to say it's very nice. Does heat up a bit from left corner but increasing load makes it easier since the fans kick in properly, seems a bit too quiet-tuned.

And it looks easy to get fingerprints on iSight when opening the thing but otherwise it's every bit as good as I'd expect from my first Apple laptop.

I've had mine for a about a day now, I don't have any compaints and I love it. The only thing is that I have to get used to using a laptop instead of a desktop. I can't even hear this thing. Last night I was looking around and I was like " something is missing.... Then I realized that there was no fan noise from my eMac that I had just sold. :D

This thing is great. I need to get some RAM and eventually a bigger drive.

hey guys. for those of you who ordered online, i'm curious as to how much time elapsed between when you ordered your macbook and when it arrived. also, was it cto? i ordered mine on saturday, and i really hope it arrives before this saturday (it could be problematic if it doesnt). it still hasnt shipped :(

I love my MB! :D It's fast, it's sexy, it's small...The screen is amazing. The keyboard is great...It plays the games that *I* want to play...I can't ask for anything more! :)

I love the macbook so far! I jsut wish it would stop mooing every 5 seconds!!!!! It's driving me nuts!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I had an episode of Mooing last night with my Macbook, which only bothered me because I was trying to think of some way to stop it (hint: place Macbook on a flat, cool surface).

Now that I'm on my PC I realize that I'd rather have the Moo than the jet-turbine WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSHHHHHH that this thing puts off.

yep. loving mine too.
but I miss the cold aluminum from my PB somewhat...
performance on the macbook is just awesome if you are coming from a G4.
I bit the bullet and picked a stock 2.0 up, I must say this thing is a very impressive machine minus the IG it can do alot of work. I stil have my 12" PB and there is a big jump in space going from 12" to 13"... i still love the 12"'s portability but im starting to realize the MacBook is quite small itself.. Just still torn cause my 1.5 12" PB is still a top noch durable machine... but i think its silly to have it when i also have a 2.0 MBP:rolleyes: .. what do you guys think?

Picked up a stock 2.0GHz White MB last night. I love it!

Definitely needs more RAM though, it's almost as if it's "choking" with the amount is has in at the moment. Won't see it's full speed potential until I load it up to 2GB.

Love the screen too and the iSight is great. Very happy.

I love my 2.0 Black MacBook to pieces!
It's a week 20, and it's perfect!

I have still to upgrade to 2GB but will soon. The thing will fly!

Idles around 43-48c, goes to 83c under 2x100% load (ambient 23c).

I'm waiting for my macbook to love it. Hopefully i will! I loved my Macbook Pro too but the whining got the better of me.

Love my macbook for the following reasons:

Amazing size
Beautiful screen
Fast
Clean
Amazing OS
Amazing Apps

Just bought my MacBook yesterday...first mac after 15 years of being a slave to Micro$oft.

Absolutely love it! Stayed up waaaaaaaaaaaaay past my bedtime setting it up and learning the various ins and outs.

I haven't got one yet, but am itching to buy the 2.0 White. The only thing that I think it could do with is a PCMCIA slot.

REASON: I have a 3G EDGE Data Card that I use on my 15" PB and it's awesome for being connected anywhere. pretty damn fast too. It's about 7 times faster than a 56K dial-up).

PROBABLE SOLUTION: The only thing I can think of is using the bluetooth connection to a 3G mobile (cell phone in American). Has anyone tried this out yet?

When running either OSX or Windows XP via bootcamp what sort of programs will the macbook be able to handle well and due to its limitations not be able to handle well?

What (intensive) programs have current users been able to run well? What hasn't worked too well?

Video? Sound? Graphics? Number Crunching? 3D? etc.......

Thanks,

I got my 2.0Ghz White a few days ago and I LOVE it. This is my first ever new mac and I've been using windows all my life and hae recently taken an interest in macs. One thing though, I'm a definite multitasker and it chokes and wheels when i try to run the many apps I like to run at once, luckily my 2GB of RAM will be here soon and then this this is gonna FLY.

I have only had some slight mooing one time, and it didn't bother me at all, only noticable if everything is absolutely silent, and it went away quickly. All in all, an incredible machine, I'm so glad I went with this!

I just graduated from high-school, and got my white macbook as a birthday/graduation present. I can safely say that my college laptop knocks the socks off of my peer's Dell notebooks.

I love it. It's small and space conserving, yet the screen seems spacious enough. And it's fast. The colors are brilliant. I have had zero problems with glare.

I get an occasional "moo" when I'm doing things that require a little bit of extra juice (or something), but it hasn't been more than I can bear. And it gets hot every now and then. But I'd rather have a hot MacBook than a cool PC notebook anyday.

This is my first Mac, and I'm confident that I'll continue going in the way of Apple computers.

Ahhhh.... Last time I checked, data transfer rates from my Bluetooth Phone(Sony W550i BTW) to my iBook G4 was 50Kbps. I was transferring some MP3s to my phone. So IMO even if your 3G phone gives you high Bandwidth, you`d be limited to 50Kbps in your MB as bluetooth will be the bottleneck.

I m saying this only coz of my experience with Sony W550i and iBook G4. I dont know if the bluetooth of either of them is slow or something. This might not be a problem if the new phones have a faster bluetooth connection.
