Just an FYI, there are a couple of sticky threads for tracking and reporting on pre-orders

I come here to read and discuss all things iPhone

At this time, this is all that is going on with the iPhone. Preorders, tracking, deliveries, and waiting in line. So thats what the majority of the threads will be until Friday.

Its hard to discuss, review, and ask questions about a device no one actually owns yet.

You could go join in on the iOS section of the board if you're sick of the current iPhone threads. No tracking going on over there.

You didn't come to discuss tracking, so you made a thread just to discuss people tracking their phones. Did you even bother thinking this through? Not only do you look like a hypocrite, not only is this thread pretentious, but it defeats the only point you want to make. How much fail can one thread have?

It's called a protest. People do that from time to time. Sometimes it affects change. Look into it.

Or, just keep apologizing and defending the me-me-me immediate gratification obessesed coddled masses that are our current society. No one has ever called them out on their childish selfish behavior before, why start now?

There are 6 stickies for those discussions. But is that good enough for wackotrackos? Nope. They keep making new threads, and the poor mods keep merging them to the stickies. Everyone thinks their story is special and that everyone cares.

I've been lurking longer than I've been a member but I've seen this with every release. People have a little bit of crazy in them, only discuss every minute detail although I've never seen the 'what clothes will you be wearing' or 'how will you open your box' before but hey, there is always a first :)

Ok, I confess I made up the clothes one. But just wait and see I give it a day.
BUT how will you open the box was a real post!

Since there are about 1000 threads for every miniscule insane detail about where people's phones are at a given moment and what the FedEx man had for breakfast, I think some equal air time is in order.

Is this you?

You preordered your iPhone, and your order said it would ship for 9/21, and that's good enough for you.

You don't feel the need to hack the FedEx/UPS servers to get updates every .00025 seconds, or hire a private investigator to find what pallet your phone is sitting on, or break into a dockside warehouse, or network your entire town's computers into a materialistic SETI at Home for iPhone tracking.

You realize that even if you had all this ridiculously granular obsessive information, it DOESN'T CHANGE WHEN YOUR PHONE ARRIVES.

You have friends/boyfriends/girlfriends and a job, which require you to act like a normal human, not a living package delivery widget. You have bathed and breathed fresh air every day since the preorder. You've been eating proper meals.

You have a life. Join us in this thread.

I'm sure there won't be any wackotrackos posting here, because they're too busy juggling 17 tracking windows on their screen, while calling Apple/AT&T/Verizon/FedEx/UPS simultaneously on 5 different phones.

But if you think you MIGHT be a wackotracko, feel free to post here and we will talk you down. Repeat after me...

It's just a phone.

It will be here when it gets here. No amount of stalky wackotracking I do will change that and I'm silly for thinking otherwise.

This is not Christmas. I am not five years old.

Even if it doesn't get here at the exact nanosecond I want it to, everything will be ok. And when it does get here, I won't suffer tracking withdrawals because I am a sane person.

It DOES feel like Christmas to me waiting for my phone. I DO feel five years old. I find that feeling like that on occasion helps one enjoy life, and not turn into a stick in the mud thats afraid to show (or feel) enthusiasm for anything lest theyre accused of "being immature".

You say "its a phone, get over it". I say. Its a Macrumours site, with lots of people excited about their new phone... Get over it :)

Eta: i have a job, and a fiance, plus my Mom is visiting from the east coast for the first time. Even with checking Apple andthe UPS site multiple times yesterday, i still managed to spend a full day with my Mom, cook my bf dinner, and go for my 1 1/2 hr daily walk. I even escorted a wayward orange tabbycat back to his house.

One can be obsessive and excited about their phone, and still live a life. Crazy, huh?

I dont mind being a wackotracko. Hey Verizon already charged my card so that damn phone is mine and I wanna know where its at all times until its in my hand!!

lol great thread. I am a semi wacktracko... I am sure none of us do it with the hope of expediting the delivery, just to enjoy the anticipation and the nice little dopamine spike that comes with each refresh.

EDIT: AHAHAhAHA this thread is 3 years old WTF

Just having a bit of fun is all.

Great thread BTW!!

The tantrums from people tomorrow when delivery says March will be incredible. (I'll be one of them)
