I don't know if I would agree with that...if it wasn't for the complaining up until now, we wouldn't even have the free bumper option at all. Imagine what would have happened if everyone was silent two weeks ago because they had consigned themselves to the reality of the situation - probably nothing. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

But at this point perhaps you are correct and nothing futher can be expected.

Perhaps now that loud complaint makers are covered in grease they will bow to the inevitably of the situation. :D

Cheers,

Thank GOD!

Stiss, you posted 6 times in your own thread, and it just hit two pages. This is exactly the reason why people think this issue is larger than it is because people like you who have an issue can't stop freaking the f out.

Look, if you don't get service, return the phone like you said you will. The end. It sucks, but I also don't have issues with my phone. Sorry for your loss.

If it's any consolation, I'm not sure why the iPhone 4 is picked on. I've had phones in the past on various networks (been on Verizon and Sprint), and my last Treo on Verizon couldn't even get reception in my freakin apartment (hence why I ended up getting the first iPhone actually).

It's a fact of life for all cell phones, it's a mixture of antenna, hardware and service. That combination affects different people in different situations. The iPhone 4 just has a bad combination for where you are.

I'm gonna call it now. A lot of trolls will post here about "returning" their iPhone 4, which they never had in the first place. Lots of posters who have joined in Jun/Jul 2010.

Yeah ... they'll go and create a new user name ( the July 2010 join date gives them away ) just to create Troll Threads.

So your the 2nd person NOT to read the OP.

This is freaking hilarious. Go read the OP and then you may wish to edit that post...

I'll be waiting.

just picked up a bold 9700 brand new for $175 on craigslist...im also gonna keep my 3GS and perhaps use the upgrade to snag a 4g and go straight to ebay.

im returning mine... am i a troll too?
He said the trolls would be the ones who joined this month or last month.

Illiterate? Maybe

Troll? No

Oh, look. I only have on 3G bar as I sit here and type this in my living room. Guess I better return it.

Oh, wait, my 3GS and my 3G have the same exact strength in this same exact chair.

Dang.

What now?

il be going back to my phone that doesnt drop calls untill this is fixed and i know 100% i can pick up an iphone that will have the issues ironed out. hell thats LOGIC for you :D

I suspect most people posting about issues with the antenna are trolls.

I suspect that most people posting about non existing issues with the signal are trolls...

Got my third phone today, batch week 27, and actually received a phone without the antenna issue OR proximity sensor. Another thing to note, this is the first version of the i4 that I can actually see the proximity sensor. There has got to be a difference in the batches!

Maybe the black colour was just too opaque for the proximity sensor not to work as desired.

If you could post a pic of the top of your phone showing the sensor I'd be grateful! I believe you anyway.

1% of users called applecare - hard figures.

im actually quite puzzled, is applecare also comprehensible in other countries other than the states? how abt uk? france?

and is this 1% of these people in the states?
what about those in other countries?

are people in america jus hard to please? or jus keep whining about the loss in antenna issues (but cant seem to give it up?)

Jobs ain't reading this.

Why do people do that? Address people who they know aren't reading? It's weird, yet quite a lot of people do it.

Who knows? But he didn't say everybody, just a lot.

I was going to 3GS. After the debacle with the bars being inaccurate it is clear Verizon has better 3G service.

Droid Incredible on Froyo.

I have 2 IP4s that will be returned over the weekend.

They both drop calls and lose ALL signal when touched without a case. While I think it is great for Apple to give refunds for previously purchased bumpers and free cases until Sept. 30th, One big factor for me when I camped out 16+ hours & paid an unsubsidized price for my phone (other was eligible for full upgrade) was the looks of it. I love the steel band & the glass back. I never intended to cover that up with a bumper or a case.

That said, Both of our phones are not at all what I would consider usable. Between the antenna & the proximity sensor (far worse issue IMO). I will be returning them and going back to the 3GS'.

I love my iP4, but ultimately it's a phone & it has to function as such. I'm very saddened by no real fix being available. I LOVE the battery life on this generation. The speed and display are both incredible, hopefully there will be a real fix available in September.

I agree with your situation. I read some updated articles on PC World and how 2 different collegues have gone through 4 different replacement phones and how they describe it "iPhone Hell". After the much waited release of the IP4 I want to enjoy its beauty, function, and glory. But all I have been doing for 3 weeks is making excuses on how I can love my phone.....

Returned mine a week ago, I feel no reason to prove it to anyone with pictures. Using the EVO for a week has been great. I havent dropped a call or had my wife say "man you sound like **** on that thing" since switching. Android is not a perfect platform but I must say its a breath of fresh air, I was getting bored with the iOS interface and lack of customization. That being said, I can still get my apple fix in with my ipad.

Enjoy the lack of battery life.
