Im sure this has been stated over and over. But this whole ios4 and iPhone 4.0 crap has made be lose all faith in
. Since updating to ios4 my 3gs lags like crap. Well thats when i finally got it to update, kept on bricking. Even though i dont have a jailbroken iphone, i use a mac and updated through itunes.
Everyone is my IT department uses iPhones, and all of them are returning their 4G's and getting something android.
Im stoked is losing share price and i hope it carries until **** gets sorted.
Steve Jobs, what a dick! He's like Bill Gates in jeans and less pies! I cant understand how these two products could have been shipped. It just makes you realise, is rushing updates(phone and software) to try keep a hold on the mobile market.
But lets face it, doesnt give two ***** about what you or i think. They know there are millions of people out there that are happy to put up with a substandard product, as long as it has the logo on it. I used to be one of them!

Actually I heard the battery life was no good, and it worried me, but its been fine. I'd say its the same as the iphone was. I am not a heavy user, I use my phone to make calls and look stuff up when its convenient but am not one of the people that use their phone for everything, thats why I have an ipad and a computer. With a car charger and USB pretty much everywhere I go, getting 20 hours between charges should not pose too much of a problem for me.
I know you were just trying to get your douchey $0.02 in with a statement like that but I figured I'd give you a genuine response anyway.

Are you still using the phone? Then you didn't brick it. Could be the ios, could be the USB port, could be the cable.
The truth is, there are so many variables when it comes to something like a cell phone; hardware, ios, hardware the phone is attached to for syncing, network, third party apps, third party add ons. They are complex pieces of equipment, and the higher the complexity, the more chance for issues to arise.
The iPhone is a fantastic phone...not perfect, not (IMNSHO) worth returning unless you're in an area that has weak coverage in the first place. If you are, a solution has been offered...take the bumper or bring it back in perfect condition for no restocking fee.
If all you want is a phone, then get a simple cell phone that is on a more solid CDMA network (someone said Verizon does 3g better...Verizon isn't a 3g network). If you want a smartphone that handles a variety of tasks, you balance out the desire or need for these tasks with problems that might arise.
I hear Boost makes a nice "Ladybug phone". Cheap, reliable, and cute!

Take your phone back and get a Android if it makes you happy.
I'd like to be constructive and actually make two points.
1. My 3GS (which I no longer own) upgraded fine to iOS4 with no lag. I used the GM candidate straight after WWDC and I never experienced lag of any kind at any point. I'd recommend a restore.
2. Updating a phone once a year is not really that often when you look at all the other manufacturers. Tell me how many phones the like of Samsung and HTC bang out in a year, it's many more than Apple.
Don't get me wrong, I loved my phone before ios4. Not a minute of issues before the update. Faced non of the issues others had with 3.1.3.
i love my iphone 3g. had iphone 4 for about a week now and am returning it. grats to the people who aren't having issues but i can replicate this loss of signal issue WAY too easily. i can also do it on my iphone 3g if i hard grip it but it doesn't actually lose service, just bars. on the iphone 4, it actually loses service and i can't make calls anymore. i wanted an iphone, not an ipod touch.
What are the first 5 numbers of your serial #? Was yours made in a different facility?
If people that are returning their iPhone 4's are posting here, they're obviously NOT just "moving on with their lives".

I canceled my ip4 order, before I even received it; keeping my 3gs, running 3.1.2. It is flawless. I did try an EVO, but really, Android cannot compare to iOS just yet. It is close, but the iOS is simply smoother and better at covering the smaller details. But I did love the size of the EVO screen! I will skip a generation and hope that the next iphone has a bigger screen.
