I have not been thinking much about the low stock of the iPads in the Apple stores until now. Almost EVERY Apple Store in cities around the United States are showing no iPad Pros until May 16th. Also, the shipping dates for every model on Apple's website is now 2-3 weeks. Normally, I wouldn't think much about this but a whole month is too ludicrous. There has to be something coming. There is no way they are just THAT low on stock.

Just the timing doesn't seem right to release an updated iPad Pro.

June will be here before you know it and Apple isn't really known to announce any hardware at WWDC. I'm really anxious about iOS 11, if your interested in getting a iPad Pro.. go ahead and give one a go.

The iPad Pro as is... is a tremendous device, iOS is the one that needs to be addressed. From better multitasking to how it handles sharing of multiple files.

But indeed. It is odd that it's that long for them to be out of stock. Who knows what's going on, but I highly doubt there's a updated iPad Pro on the horizon.

June would be soon for a refresh I'm sensing something coming with WWDC or even a possible may event. Apple needs to do something before fall. People are trying to buy iPad Pro and not having them available is not good for sales.

Apple has announced hardware at WWDC. They have even announced iPhones there.

Yes, they have announced hardware in the past. But that has long since been undermined since Jobs has departed from the company. And WWDC is primarily focused on developers and OS. But overall, Apple has strayed away from hardware being how they have changed their keynotes throughout the year as well.

I'm putting my life in jeopardy for this.
But here it is....

With all the small leaks (whether true or not IDK) now about the next iphone and nothing about an ipp 2, I just doubt one is coming before that iphone. I, like everyone else here, am watching daily for the majic to happen tho!

If they do not release before back to school season they are missing a HUGE opportunity. I personally know around 15-20 classmates that are just waiting for this announcement to purchase. Once I show students what I can do with my Pro, they want one in their bag too. Eventually they will find a device that will not meet their needs fully or be as good as a Pro could, but with the lack of options will settle.

Pretty sure they talked about supply chain constraints during the last financial call. I think Cook said they wouldn't be out of shortages in the next 90 days.

You must know a f**k ton of people if 15-20 classmates are waiting to purchase one.

I know I'm just waiting on an update to upgrade from my iPad Air 2. Been waiting a while, but I'm not settling on a current Pro.

The Air 2 I'm typing on works great tbh if it wasn't for Pencil I wouldn't even really want one

I agree. I wouldn't take the advice of those on this thread telling you to buy now. Wait until May 16, especially as that in-stock date seems to be consistent across Apple stores and other retailers alike. http://appleinsider.com/articles/17...ipad-pro-slips-to-may-as-rumored-update-looms

Do you think Apple could do another refresh of the store page and just refresh the 12.9inch with Truetone and A10X, I hope they do that's all I want :)

I don't think that's unreasonable at all to believe Apple will include Tru-Tone and the A10X Processor. I believe Tru-Tone will eventually become uniform across the iPad Pro line and it's also rumored the iPhone 8 will also include Tru-Tone.

It's possible they could do that, and save the rumored 10.5" for the fall. What i DON'T believe is that Apple would delay the new 12.9" until the fall. That would mean an unprecedented (and, IMO, unwise) TWO YEAR GAP since the first one.

The most consistent rumors have said that the 12.9 was originally scheduled for March, but production delays pushed it back to April or May (or possibly June). The recent IPP marketing push seems to indicate that Apple had been planning a big upgrade for this spring.

That would make since but what about the processors ? Would the 12.9 have A10X but then the 10.5 have a A11X? Since the iPhone 8 would have a A11. Hmm or maybe the A10X will be faster than the A11 even

Apple has lately not been keeping the iPhone and iPad processors on the same generation. The iPads Pro (Phil Schiller's plural term for them) are still using the 1.5 year-old A9x, while the iPhone moved on to the A10 seven months ago. So, we shouldn't assume that they'll deploy the next A-series chips in tandem.

Plus, some rumors are pointing to the 10.5 being launched simultaneously with the 12.9 (which would be awkward, unless the 12.9" also gets the slimmed-down bezel treatment).

I rather Apple refresh all iPad Pro models at same time, refreshing one model only at a time is quite awkward
