FaceID is such a great feature during COVID /s

Surprised they haven't brought back fingerprints.
This! It’s terribly frustrating unlocking my phone repeatedly while shopping to see my Notes To-Do list. And my passcode is 22+ characters long, with alphanumeric/odd characters. It’s secure, but a PAIN to type. TouchID needs to come back.

Great, another micro-update with more lightning cables and notches on all but the "pro" phones...in 2022! Love my new MBA M1 (that's far cheaper than many iphones...WTF?) but I'm waiting for my daughter to break her iphone 6s so I can give her my 12 that's at the bottom of my phone drawer since I reinstated my 2 year old Oneplus 7T that has far better features than the predicted iphone 14 Pro Max at one THIRD the price. Tired of the annual Apple cash grab, threw away my tickets to that parade.

I mean you could just give it to her now 🤷‍♂️

The rumor of satellite phone features interests me. Although, I don't know if it's even currently possible, lol
It’s possible if you are a Tesla Phone but Apple would have to make “nice-nice” with someone who they may be in competition with to even reach a low orbit satellite.

The only leak that is questionable is the under screen Face ID. However a hole punch with finger print scanner under screen or in the power button is very possible even as a fall back. Apple has been testing this exact thing for a while.

"We're still months away from the launch of the iPhone 14 models, which we're expecting in September 2022"

Months away? That is how you describe 10 months? How about 'almost a whole year away'? It reminds me of the phrase "Late Fall" even though late Fall includes December 20th. Might as well just say 'end of the year'

I don’t think the notch will go. iPhones will look too much like Android phones with a hole punch and the notch differentiates an iPhone from other devices.

No 5.4? So they're just gonna repeat the iPhone 6 cycle madness again, eh? Looks like I get to clutch my 2016 SE another two years... too bad it means I'll keep strapping on the Watch series 3 for two more years....

Wow.. very surprised that this is the design choice they made. Bonkers to me.

People see my 4" SE and gush over it and "yeah I wish mine (iPhone 8 and 11 people) were a little easier to carry". Funny how almost no one alive today remembers the 3.5" and 4" phones...

As a professional photographer I used to get excited about camera upgrades and replaced my iPhone yearly, but now the best part of two years into a mask wearing pandemic I won't be replacing my iPhone until we get Touch ID back. I simply do not understand how after all this time, this hasn't been addressed, especially when the technology is available.

You must know a lot of people on Planet Earth that have bad memories over older iPhones, also seriously I have yet to see anyone gush over a phone, my friends dont care what phone we all use, nobody has ever said they cant live with my iPhone 13 Pro size wise, but then again I don't recall people discussing phones as we tend to have other things to talk about rather than overpriced rectangular metal and glass tbh.

I really want to upgrade to this (From iPhone 7) but hope it's not too expensive....,Where are they usually cheaper?

Now let me see - where do you find any shop, that is not peppered with cameras all over the premises (in an attempt to catch shop-lifters?) and especially near the check-out and above the payment terminals. Well hidden - you’re not supposed to see them - but anything you enter on a screen (or as pin code on a payment terminal) will most often be (next to) clearly visible on “virtual film” (aka video).

That’s one of the reasons, my iPhone 12 Pro was relegated to mostly home and camera use (works when locked), and my late 2019 Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 512 GB is again doing all the work (it has under screen Touch ID - Apple probably to miserly to pay for a patent ;-)

No camera above me can get any look into my ”access code” this way.

I have used my smartphones for all payments all over Europe since beginning of 2018, so it actually matters to me. In that period I have used less than 150 Euro in cash (mostly local city buses and taxis in out of mainstream towns).

The USB-C even connects to “everything“. SSD read/write around 250+/275+ megabyte/sec and up to 100 megabyte/sec for my daily backup to encrypted storage on my own NAS via WiFi6. Faster than even Apple iPads (Pro) I have used (but no longer use for anything but browsing due to the inherent limitations of ipadOS for my serious use).

Since Apple excels in closed environment solutions, I don’t even use iCloud anymore. Apple+ will be terminated within a few months, when renewal is required. Migration away from the Apple world was far easier, than I had expected.

With CSAM still “alive” in Tim’s mind, who needs even the rumoured iPhone14.

YMMV

Regards
