I still have the first OSX around here (somewhere). I still have discs from the Apple developer subscription service. Oh, and most of the Inside Macintosh manuals. I just can't seem to toss them. Yet. But then I have a copy of the doctoral thesis that was the roots of Python, and some of the early AT&T/Bell Labs publications for Unix, and lots of other things that are too old and yet not collectable yet. *sigh* (I did have a Singer Friden calculator that used magnets and mercury reed switches for the keyboard, and had a small circlular CRT screen that showed the numbers entered in to it for calculations. (And the wife tossed it)) The good old days...
Nice to have lived through and survived all those days.! 😉

Dropping the cable and going fully inductive charging like Magsafe is still possible for them within this regulation. I hope that they don’t do it but it would be in compliance.
I hope they do it, but perhaps with aother means in addition to inductive charging, for example the the pass through data/charging of the iPad Pros/Magic Keyboard.

well here we are again, Apple TV 4K just released, and wddaya know? The fickin' remote went to USB-C over lightning, so yeah, this tells me apple has finally embraced it and has started the slow progression of moving from Lightning to USB-C as far as the remaining Lightning products are concerned! :_)
