Love a good parody, but this was a bit boring and insensitive for a tech site. People pay a lot for these devices. But maybe consumers should just fork up and shut up.

Bring it back. Back to the apple store.

(but you know you wont)

"Apple’s sold well over two million iPhone 4s, and we simply haven’t heard the sort of outcry from users that we’d normally hear if a product this high-profile and this popular had a showstopping defect. Honestly, it’s puzzling — we know that the phone has an antenna-relnated problem, but we’re simply not able to say what that issue actually means for everyday users."
Well, the actual cause of the problem is only familiar to tech geeks who represent maybe 10% of the population. The general public doesn't know or give a crap about antennas and attenuation and decibels and blah blah, if a phone has poor reception they either shake their fist at AT&T or they run around the house looking for a spot with better signal. Considering the amount of times we've seen actors holding iPhones upside down on various shows, I wouldn't credit non-geeks with the intuition and advanced troubleshooting skills required to figure out that touching a certain spot on the phone bridges the antennas. They're probably busy looking for the on/off switch or wondering about stuff like the good ol' "there's no sound coming out of one of the iPhone's stereo speakers!"

Why do people do this? YouTube is getting so full of crap parody videos, useless "video responses to:" and Joe bloggs product reviews by who gives a crap.

People need to go back to using YouTube for what it's meant to be used for: posting hilarious videos of people falling down, cute baby animals and funny stuff people do when they're drunk.

What's "funny" to you isn't funny to anyone else. It was funny on America's Funniest Home Videos with Bob Saget in the early 90's.

We've seen it all a hundred times now... I welcome things like this. Pop culture is king, and is remembered. Not Joe falling over his dog, injuring the child he was carrying, it crying, Susie still filming, and an audience laughing.

Personally. I really liked the video. Very true, and that last part should be hung on a banner somewhere.

I need to start singing that song.. cause its the truth.. there is a problem but please its not that serious.. gosh!

Steve's response to "bring it back"

There was a guy behind me in line that had dropped his phone out of his pocket while sitting down and the glass was shattered on the front. The manager told him "this is the strongest glass ever...".

Quoted from a different thread. Since was hilarious... and here's Steve's response. Adding it here to the "Humor" thread!

Steve Jobs: I only asked you to "not hold it that way". I never said you can put it in your pocket! You should not sit down or bend-over (smiles), even when you're not holding it that way. So, in your pocket & sitting down, will definitely cause the phone to fall and shatter. Remember its made of glass. This not something thats specific to the iphone 4. Any phone made of glass will have these features that you're seeing.

I've also asked my online store call center in California to keep you on queue for about 45 minutes before they speak to you. You need to learn to be patient, while returning. I just want to make it a fun experience to return the phone, wasn't it fun getting it in the first place. (Steve has an angelic grin on his face)

Customer: Sorry Steve, I am going to the AT&T store, I bought it from them. I heard they just take it back at the AT&T store location, even though I bought it from their online store.

Steve Jobs: Ok. While I was talking, there were 100's of engineers running behind the stage. What they have figured, is that there are too many wifi hotspots in the room. So if you will turn off your wifi, then I can show you how the online return process works.

Customer: Sorry to interrupt Steve, I am going to the AT&T store, I bought it from them. I heard they just take it back at the AT&T store, even though I bought it from their online store.

Steve Jobs: Will you let me finish here? (Steve has an amused look). Ok, looks like everyone has shutdown their laptops and wifi hotspots. Still this internet is a little spotty here. May be am not holding the phone in the right particular way. hmmm... ok, imagine you're at the online order status page of the apple store website. You will notice that you can initiate the return for any other product that you previously bought from the apple store but just for the iphone4, it "screams" - call the online store. IPhone 4 is a screamer.

(thundering applause from the crowd)

Customer: Thank you Steve. All this makes sense to me now. I dont want to return my phone anymore. I will tell my 4 friends not to return it either. I will also get on the macrumors forum and flame anyone who says anything about issues they face with the iphone 4. I'll also make a video on how easy it is to return the iphone4 and upload it to youtube. Can I now play with my iphone 4?

From a musical point the video was very well made! Usually joke songs are annoying childs music.

And the point of the lyrics is very wellcomed. Great work, Jonathan Mann aka "therockcookiebottom"!

Perfect

haha, brought a smile to my face. Well done ROFL. :D

Got to love youtube for been the platform it is.

You may not like it, I may not like it, but others do. There's something for everyone one to like. What's crap for me may be good for you, etc. So, just chill and have a laugh. The guy got inspired and put a lot of work on it. Who knows, he may even appear on TV for this!

I don't think it's a little issue as It's a rather expensive handset and the classic 'you get what you pay for' doesn't apply. yes it wont result in death and the world certainly wont come to an end because of one or a few dropped call, but that doesn't mean we should just shut up and buy a bumper case. that's just an insulting solution!!

the song does have one valid point, if you don't like it, dont buy it and better yet you bought one and hate it/doesn't work, take it back!!

very simple and effective solution ........and everyone's happy....almost :)

this was obviously not a real 'song,' folks. it was put out for its comedic value... how some of you can't find the humor in this video is beyond me, but it's just a joke.

as stated in the video, please, get over yourselves.

We have way to many unemployed people in USA

If your going to make a parody video of iphone 4 , make it so we can understand what the &*%$ you're saying ? I can barely make out a word and had my volume all the way up ? People are so jealous about iphone 4 popularity .. It's sad everyone that doesn't or cant afford one has to bash it.

Song Of The Day Is Great!!!

The song speaks the truth. The iPhone hasn't even been out a full month yet and from day 1 all I've been hearing is iPhone. I have my iPhone 4 and I drop calls rarely but not as many as I did with my iPhone 3GS. I like the last part too.. I have yet to meet someone that returned the iPhone 4 because of this issue.

Now let's wait to see what Apple says.

Great Video! So Funny! I was laughing out loud! (whoa...almost forgot how to spell "laugh").

I can't believe some people are actually criticizing the 'message' of the video, or the quality of the humor... They guy isn't claiming to be a prophet...OMG, he just took some time and effort to made a funny video! And guess what... not everybody thinks the same things are funny: (If you don't believe me, explain "Three and a Half Men")

If you don't like the man's video,
You don't have to gripe to me.
If you can't take a joke... Don't listen,
The thing only lasted a minute or three.

Lighten' up haters!

Don't forget guys gettin' hit in the junk! - Now that's quality stuff!
(You're being sarcastic right? My apologies (and sympathies) if you are serious.)

there's an awful lot of hoopla
around the iphone 4 anttenna
when you grip it with the death grip
and you're call slips away

the media loves a failure
in a string of success
the facts won't ever matter
if they can make bigger messes

sure i can make it happen
but in terms of daily usage
i've yet to drop a call

Check your hearing my man. I could hear it loud and clear.

LOL
Damn... I needed that laugh!!!

"If you don't want an iphone 4... don't buy it! If you bought one and you don't like it... BRING IT BACK!"... hillarious!

Move on people... nothing more to see!! Move on...

It has to be pointed out that just because you've bought an iPhone 4 doesn't mean you belong to an elite club. I can afford one but I choose not to. You can criticise a product even if you CAN afford it. The iPhone 4 isn't the only smartphone on the market...
