Over Reactions.

Folks,

Jobs hasn't even formally spoken yet. Did you really expect Apple to respond to this instantaneously after finding out about the problem? If you don't want one, don't buy one... If you bought it and you don't like it, bring it back. In the mean time, let's hear what Jobs says at 1pm eastern.

This is Apple fanaticism taken to the extreme. Let's look at it objectively:

1. The iPhone 4 costs £499 when bought SIM free.
2. You can't hold it in certain (normal) ways or it may drop calls.
3. The CEO of the company, when questioned, in a display of utter sheer arrogance tells customers they're holding the phone incorrectly. Huh?
4. He tells them to buy an Apple Bumper case. So the phone doesn't work properly without buying yet another Apple product?
5. They put out a software update to alter the software to make the signal appear stronger.
6. Apple fans put up with all this nonsense and make videos to defend the product.

I'm not so sure Apple actually care or take care of their loyal customers as well as they should. These are customers who have spent thousands of dollars and pounds on their products and made Apple Executives very successful (and wealthy) people.

Apple fans - you deserve so much better than this. If Apple are ever going to change the way they treat their customers then making videos like this needs to stop.

Just my opinion. I'm ready for my roasting now...

You missed a couple of facts......

7. Most iPhone owners are apparently not having this issue
8. Everybody who is dissatisfied can return their phone for a full refund.
9. Apple is not seeing mass returns of iPhone-4s.

I guarantee that if Apple had to take back into stock one million of 2-3 week-old used iPhone-4s because of an antenna issue then heads would be rolling over at Apple. Still curious to see what they have to say today, but so far all three iPhone-4 owners I know personally are thrilled with the device.

I think this video is a humorous way of trying to get some of those facts across. Not saying folks are not experiencing this issue, I just get the feeling it is being exaggerated as to the scope of the actual problem occurring.

It's funny because it's true. :D (the whole "take it back if you don't like it" that is.)

Wow that was terrible

Now the HTC EVO vs iPhone 4 "iDon't Care" Video is funny.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL7yD-0pqZg

That HTC EVO vs iPhone 4 video is funny up until they run out of humor and just degenerate into explicatives. Once somebody runs out of good material it seems to go that way, but loved up until about the half-way mark.

My favorite line was "it can grant up to three wishes even if one of those wishes is for an iPhone..... I don't care!"

Hey come on everyone this is getting stupid, firstly the youtube thing was funny the guy got his point over and did it how he thought best I take my hat off to him.

Secondly everyone is getting so stressed out on the antenna saga and making it the be-all-end-all of their lives which is pretty sad I think, yes there is a minor problem and yes Apple will fix it end of story.

Agreed with most of what you said, but the title of your post was that "Some people need a grip".... Maybe some folks needs to loosen their grip? :D

What if in 15 minutes Steve Jobs came on stage, showed this video, "Thanks for coming", and walked off. Haha

Edit: WOW! They showed it right off the bat.

Viral marketing

the official song for today conference :D

Great example of viral marketing! That said, I've been using my iPhone4 since launch day, and won't bring it back ;)

T-Mobile Germany currently estimates 9 (NINE) weeks delivery time for the iPhone 4 ...

Well. This blog proves...

That just like *ssholes. Everyone has an opinion.
This just sums it up.
I'm off to continue enjoying the greatest phone I've ever had-my iPhone 4...
Hope yours is doin right by you. If not the video tells ya what to do. Please get a phone that works for you. But take note that a smartphone may not be in the cards for you. You've been told to change the way you hold it-you're probably going to have the same problem. Get an old razr or nokia throwaway. They are less susceptible to the signal problems. Or even better get a LAN line.

Cute video/song. By the way I thought YouTube was for pirating tv shows and music videos of songs long lost.

America's (un)Funniest Videos should keep the people "caught" tripping or having accidents. Those are just lame.

The world needs to relax and enjoy life, laugh a little before life passes us by.

The iPhone song guy nailed it. Don't buy it if you don't want one and take it back if you're not happy with it (and the crappy ATT service you're stuck with for 2 LONG years).

Me, I'm waiting till another carrier offers service on them - for less money too.

I might look at an EVO, but I understand the 4G service is actually slower than 3G. For me, the easy connectivity to my computer contacts and mail is the most important thing.

Actually, I took the phone back. I wasn't impressed with AT&T's service, or the fact that when I hold my phone in my left hand and 3G goes from 5 bars to "searching". And yes, I always hold my phone in my left hand, so I didn't do it just to "make" the phone drop calls.

The song speaks the truth. The iPhone hasn't even been out a full month yet and from day 1 all I've been hearing is iPhone. I have my iPhone 4 and I drop calls rarely but not as many as I did with my iPhone 3GS. I like the last part too.. I have yet to meet someone that returned the iPhone 4 because of this issue.

Now let's wait to see what Apple says.

"If you don't want an iphone 4... don't buy it; if you bought one and you don't like it... bring it back..."

Don't buy one, so I can get one! Still can't get an iphone in stock! %^$%@#$

I wish these haters would just not buy one; and let the ones who want one get a higher chance to pick one up. In fact, don't get in line and buy the white iphone 4 -- please. You know you hate it, it has issues, it drops calls, etc... don't buy one... so I can waltz in and pick up a white one for myself.

So please don't buy the white iphone 4. Consumer Report doesn't recommend it for you. Don't stand in line and create long lines for me (or us). Don't pre-order one.
