If true then Siri could also run on the iPad 2. Question is would it be useful?
Please say it isn't so, I'm so tired of 3 web pages refreshing. When I switch between them.
I dont think my iPad has a mic?
I largely agree with what you said, and I had to chuckle because I almost wrote something about the GT-R (i.e., V6 and 3700lbs doesn't translate into slow acceleration and poor handling).
That being said, and being a bit of a car nut, I did want to mention: the current R35 GT-R is 3.8L and the current Gen IV Viper is 8.4L, the ACR version of the Viper currently holds the Nurburgring [production car] record of ~7:12![]()
Apple has always been stingy with RAM--whether it's in their computers or iStuff. And when they have offered extra RAM on their computers they gouge for it. I have no idea why they do this or why they have such an aversion to increasing the memory capacity of their devices when the costs clearly drop every year while the necessity of the boost goes up every year.
Relax. 512 is fine. Remember, it's not Android. iOS 5 will be very efficient.
Another 512 would have a negative effect on battery life as well.
The iPhone 5 will have 1g+.![]()
RAM isn't that power hungry. Especially SoC RAM.
Is RAM not that vital since paging out to disk is pretty fast when the disk is flash memory?
A bit of a let-down, but this was not a deal breaker for me as it seems the iOS devices do very well on 512MB of RAM (at least my iPad 2 does). More RAM is always good providing the app developers don't get sloppy and hog it all up. So if Apple were to increase the RAM, I'd like them to limit individual apps so that no one app could use it all. I see the drawbacks there, but I think it is better than dealing with the App Store being loaded with apps from developers who fail to optimize their RAM usage and therefore apps being incompatible with older iPhones.
Until Apple re-does their multitasking (let's be honest, it's pretty terrible) they really have no reason to add more RAM.
a outdated 8 month old a5 chip and underclocked to boot....like seriously...and people say the ipad ram.I guess that is how this company get over on people..![]()
Yes, it does, it's on the top of the unit. If you have an iPad 2 3G, it's a little hole in the black plastic strip. If you have a WiFi-only iPad, I believe the top is just metal, no plastic strip.I dont think my iPad has a mic?
