it's all i use to wake up.

30 seconds of bob marley's "jammin" is the perfect way to wake up in the morning.

although yesterday, i accidentally turned off my alarm instead of snoozing, and i was late for work...

i've been using AlarmTunes and it works awesome. i put it on its cradle on my nightstand so every morning i have a fully-charged phone. And i've found that even putting it to sleep the alarm will still go off on time.

seriously, what's the big deal about needing a song to fade in for you to wake up? in the end, you wake up anyway, so what's the difference?

I use aWake!Gently for my alarm. It doesn't offer songs from your tunes library, but it does offer several natural sounds (and artificial, but I don't use them) that fade in from anywhere between 1 - 15 minutes depending on your preference, and independent alarm time / sound / snooze settings for every day of the week, which I think is pretty cool.

I have managed to turn it off by making a call at night before and forgetting to start the app again, so I woke up late for work, but ever since then I've had my old horrible "makes-me-angry-and-irritable-with-its-stupid-aggressive-bleeping-sound" alarm set for the latest possible time I could get up, which is set to be about 5 minutes after my snooze ends.. just in case..

Is that horribly complex for an alarm system? ... Probably :)

I use it with the standard sounds, and it has never failed me. I like it, but I don't need fade in or out, my own music, etc.

for me...a 30 second alarm is pretty darn long. if you need an alarm sound longer than 30 seconds something is wrong with you.

See what I did there?

I use the standard alarm on the iPhone. I just added my own ringtone that is nice and loud in order to wake me up. I don't know about all this fading in talk. If you are asleep until it is loud enough to wake you, why does it matter that it fades in?? Alarms clocks are meant to wake you up and the standard clock app does that just fine when equipped with the right tone. As far as length goes, it shouldn't matter because the alarm continues to repeat until you turn it off, at least that is how mine is set up.

It works alright, but as was already said you have to make sure your ringer is up. I wish it was as well-implemented as Blackberry's bedside mode. :(

I have 7 alarms set from 6:30 - 7 in 5 minute increments. I use the standard sounds. Mostly the blaring warning alarm thingy. It works pretty well until I wake up on the first one and forget to shut the others off. Then I hear the alarms going while in the shower... :(

hahah ... who are you guys waking up in "22 seconds"?

Well, I take 30 minutes to get out of bed. That's why I have 4 different alarms set. The last one is a real alarm so I know that's my actual time to get up.

But each time it goes off I turn the alarm off within 3 seconds. I don't need it going off for 30 seconds and waking up the rest of the house.

I used the alarm and it worked fine.

Then I bought a monkey that shakes me awake in the morning and have never looked back.

See I don't like to be awakened that way so I had this very easygoing tone that would gradually get louder. It almost reminded me of when Prince Hakeem was being awoken in Coming to America. :D

Always wakes me up. However, I need a loud ringtone to do so, so I used Slipknot, worked once and has ever since so I'm too lazy to change it.

Why do you want a song to fade in for an alarm?

The alarm is there for for to be alarmed of whatever you set it for, not your you to jam to the song...

If you give me a good reason as to why then maybe ill get it.

I usually wake up early without an alarm. But I've used my iPhone twice when traveling, and it worked great. Both times I picked a Paul Butterfield Blues walkin' tune, In My Own Dream, starts out low nothing too crazy, and it eased me into consciousness so I could appreciate where that track winds on out to. I don't like to be BLASTED awake by bells or alarm sounds, don't care if it is on an iphone or a $2 pie-pan special.

haha, fair enough. I'm a chronic snoozer. I'm terrible.

I've heard, though, that if you just get up right the moment your alarm goes of, you're less tired all day. If only I had the morning energy to give that try .....

This. If you set 5 alarms youre GOING to wake up, period.

it seems im a heavy sleeper and some days the iphone awake me perfectly (default clock app) but sometimes i awake 30 minutes after the alarms sound, even 1 hour!!!, it sucks!! im going to loose my JOB! hahaha :p

i need something that sounds LOUD as hell! so it awakes me no matter what!:(
