BB has without a doubt the worst browser known to man kind.

Why didn't you suggest he check out, Web OS, Android and WP7's browsers instead?

Because they suck??

There's nothing wrong with this thread, it brings attention to much needed features on iOS's 4 year old outdated browser.

Why don't you fanboys stop pumping sunshine up each others butts and begin to see the numerous flaws that iPhone has.

I think I'm going to start a thread where we all come up with words we can use instead of "Fanboy". That term is so old and unimaginative. Not to mention sexist.

I saw the light 4 years ago when I got the first iphone and Im more than satisfied with the iOS.
of course you are, because there has been virtually no change on today's OS compared to 4 years ago minus minor upgrades and enhancements. Same UI as 4 years ago? You better believe it!

I can live without a full screen mobile browser on my phone;)

You have no choice because thats what Apple is spoon feeding you until they decide to to a major overhaul on their OS. The day a new and improved Mobile Safari is released you will be the first praising it's new features which will include full screen mode

Robots they are everywhere

People do have a choice. It's well documented in this thread that there are numerous alternatives to Safari. And many of them are free.

Add Mobile Safari to the top of that list, after all this thread brings light to it's many short comings and lack of basic features that are offered by other browsers on other platforms that you claim suck.

Sarcasm...

And I was really making fun of the widespread use of the term suck in this thread.

They do have a choice and but does that mean Mobile Safari will keep being a sub par browser?

I don't know the answer to that question...All I was saying is that we have choices. I prefer Atomic myself, and won't use Safari unless it gets a major overhaul. If it doesn't, I'll continue using Atomic. No skin off my back either way.

Lol :D
Guess again.
I been JB all my iphones for years and I customize, modify and do things to my iphone that Apple/AT&T/Verizon will never allow.
So that full screen "major flaw" that you're crying about has been solved thru a cydia package a long time ago;)
That along with tons of other improvements and addons also.
Have a good night, keep up the good fight though:D
Fight the power.

My take on the (paid app) browser scene doesn't differ much from others in this thread much.

I like:

1) Atomic
2) Mercury / iCab
3) Perfect Browser

'Necessarily' in that order, partially because I've been using Atomic the longest. But they're all better than iOS Safari.

I'd put "Perfect Browser" higher on the list, but it's a kludge to import bookmarks (imported them in reverse alphabetical order, argh.) :(

Then again, 5 years ago -- ANY of said mobile browsers (including iOS Safari) would kick butt over what 'used to be'. :)

Lol :D

Jailbreaking an iPhone is just as much a solution as giving methadone to a heroine addict.

Not everyone Jailbreaks and jailbreaking is a temporary solution to make up for iPhones many short comings.

Enjoy your jailbroken iPhone until the next OS upgrade is released and you have to wait for the dev team divas to release a jailbreak in order to upgrade, nice going!

Ok, if you say so.
Love the drug addict analogy though :D
All jailbreakers are like heroin addicts. Wow:D
lol
I can wait a few weeks or more till a new JB is out, Im not that impatient like some people here to have the latest and newest iOS version for a few minor improvements or upgrades. If it aint broke I dont try to fix it.;)
Dont get so mad though with all those thumbs down icons.
You might pop a blood vessel:D

I honestly don't see what is so wrong with the stock Safari on the iPhone, it does what it's supposed to and rather well compared to other mobile browsers I've used. Sounds like you're just nit picking for the sake of nit picking.

*Sigh...I for one have had enough with this Apple "robots" labeling.

I don't hate my iPhone (or any of my Apple products) because they don't have a fullscreen browser, an HDMI port or a 5ghz processor and 4 Gigs of RAM. I love my iPhone because of it's beautiful design, how it feels when I hold/use it and the OVERALL experience of using it day by day. I don't care if it only has 5MB of RAM, if it gets the job done it gets the job done. Would I like more? Sure! But mostly so everyone doesn't have something stupid and small to complain about.

That being said, the Safari browser is fine for my iPhone but I use Atomic on my iPad.

What makes you think I am a "fanboy"? Do you know what devices I use? Do you know what opinions I hold of Apple? Pretty idiotic generality if you ask me. I've noticed that people who don't have logical counter-points often fallback on the "fanboy" card, probably because its easier than admitting they might be wrong.

Claiming that the iPhone browser sucks because its viewing area is 45 pixels shorter than if it were full screen seems like a substantial overstatement to say the least. Maybe the OP has a point, but the way he went about making the point makes him look like an idiot.

Wow you are a tool. Get over yourself. We all have the choice to jailbreak if we want to add the tweaks we truly need on our iPhones. If a new iOS version comes out we then have the choice to upgrade or wait. I've been using 4.0 since July! I could care less about hdr or airplay. If I wanted I could upgrade to the lastest OS and jailbreak, but there is no need.

when you use a 3rd party browser, isn't that a chance that the 3rd party is able to monitor/receive data on what you browse on it? ie it may capture your passphrases etc?

So you know of the mythical part of the forum where there's nothing but praise, unicorns and marshmellows everywhere?

Its a forum. People complain. You're even complaining about this guy! So what if he complains alot.

Bravo!

It's called free speech.

From a fellow human being.

Life is not all roses.

Cheers ... :)
