Is the issue with you mention above true for all 2007 macbooks?

I don't know. It is a problem with mine. Have you heard about this other than my situation?

It seems like aging macs don't last long like a PC but because it cannot keep up with the newer technology.

The safari browser is the most solid, and fluid browser for a mobile browser. Atomic though is also very nice as you all know.

Well after reading the thread and realizing the mercury browser sounds nice. I gave it a try for 5 minutes and loved it. So I purchased the pro version, the tabs and full screen are amazing. The ui on the browser is easy. Give it a try.

Just think, we could all be given the shaft. Could you all imagine if iPhone web browsing was like how it is on Blackberry?

My point is, be thankful for iPhone, and the best mobile web browsing out there, regardless of what browser you use. :D

My December 2006 Macbook Pro has no issues with flash or viewing YouTube videos with Safari, and it's lasted 4 times longer than any Windows machine I've ever owned. My father in law's Tibook is even older and still works perfectly.

I agree, which is why I use fullscreen safari instead of atomic/perfect/mercury

Can this happen without Jailbreak?

No it can't. That's the whole point of this thread......

The whole point of this thread is the same as all of your other threads, to couch a small feature request within a "screw you Apple" sandwich.

Whats wrong with talking about shortcomings? this could be useful information for people who are on the fence about switching from another phone OS to iOS.

I, for one, think the little things matter and it is those that people will notice if they switch from android to iOS. I have a whole list of annoyances from my purchase of an iPad/iphone... if I express those its purely for informational, because some people want to see pass the "OMG iphones is sooo flawless"

Using the full screen browsers on my iPhone, I haven't found them any more efficient over Mobile Safari. To each their own.

Nothing is wrong with talking about shortcomings, most of us do it all the time here. It's both a good way to inform others of issues and to encourage improvements to the platform.

I take issue with people posting stupid threads with the word "sucks" in the title. The iPhone browser does not "suck" because it doesn't offer a full screen mode within the app. This thread was designed solely to inflame because it's an appeal to emotion.

Please re-read my post: my issue is the "applesuxomfg!!!!!" part, not the (potentially) legitimate point of criticism.

And lets not forget, that if you disagree with the complaints you are simply part of the dumb masses, an Apple stockholder, or worse.

There's nothing wrong with this thread, it brings attention to much needed features on iOS's 4 year old outdated browser.

Why don't you fanboys stop pumping sunshine up each others butts and begin to see the numerous flaws that iPhone has.
