Samsung had those curved edges, they got away from it. It was horrible.
I don’t think the actual screen which you touch will be curved. I think they will wrap the screen inside the frame so that the black border we have now around the screen will be hidden because the actual black border will be curved into the sides so you won’t see it, giving us a couple of extra mm of usable screen.
Just think about an iPhone Air without the black border around the screen, but with the tiny bit of silver frame showing and triple cameras of course.

iPhone X was not a game changer. All the new features had been around in other phones and devices for a decade previous.
It served as a device to artificially increase the price by £450 here in the UK at the time. This was the device which kicked started the £1000+ iPhone.

I do agree with you on the price adjustment though. Next year will see a similar reset IMHO.
The phone of my dreams has not even been conceptualized yet by Apple.
It would be:
1. No walled garden, secure by design, instead of secure by marketing propaganda
2. Flexible use cases, no more Apple way or the highway. Many features selectable
3. Don't need cloud provider for most features
4. Selectable cloud provider
5. Selectable search providers, not just Apple approved providers
6. Support free speech. No more Apple nanny rules about acceptable Apps
7. Fully functional and configurable firewall
It would be:
