Very much waiting for 20th anniversary iPhone. Will definitely keep my Orange 17 Pro Max till then. Will be great if there are different color choices for the 20th edition and not just black and white like the X. Looking forward to all the rumors!! Very excited to hear more.

...and people will still have to get cheap $5 cases to protect the all screen design. I can already see the YouTube drop test videos with shattered screens...🙄

Great, 2027 is right on schedule for my next smartphone (which I replace about every 5 to 6 years, stating with the SE P910i in 2004, iP4 in in 2010, iPSE in 2016, and iP 13 mini in 2021). Can't wait for the iP27 mini! ;)

I would like to have a glasses similar to Meta Display or a retinal implant instead.

I will literally move into the woods and forego society before I get a retinal implant, and especially given the "quality" of companies we have pushing all the tech now.

Last time I checked the iPhone of my dreams was not an even more fragile peace of glass with the dubious gimmick of having a screen wrap around all edges.
If you think of Apple as primarily an insurance company that sells the problem (slippery, glass phones) and charges recurring revenue for the solution (Apple care, cloud storage, etc), then it’s in their best interest to make phones as fragile as possible. Oldest trick in the book.

And in the same spirit, make the default photo size larger and larger so that it takes up more space, and then you have to switch to a more expensive tier of iCloud.

“More megapixels baby!”

This really gets at the corrosive influence of Apple leaning into Services as a driver of revenue growth.

One can't help but begin to question design & feature motives up and down the product lineups.

They're bringing back the 5s?!
Still one of my favorites, along with the iPhone Xs as a close second.

2027 is on my personal "update" cycle (I try to get 3+ years out of my iPhones), so, maybe I'll bite on it <shrug>. Though I gotta say, like others have pointed out, my first thought was, "How the hell will it work in a folio wallet case?"

This actually is my iPhone dream. Has been for a long time. Do you remember when we carried around our iPhone 3G devices? Small display, no camera flash or even video recording capability. Imagine jumping from that to the fake phone in the image. It would blow your mind.

The iPhone of my dreams... They're launching a model without any software bugs??

the iphone of my dreams would be a truly pro device with both the hardware and software to allow you to plug it in to various docks and transform it into a desktop, laptop, tablet, or media center.

imagine sitting down to your desk and then working on documents on a monitor with keyboard or sliding it into a laptop style chassis and working on the go. artists can slide it into a large ipad for apple pencil use. everyone can connect it to their tv to function as an apple tv.

this would require apple to be consistent with a phone form factor for at least a decade, but they would still make a killing on the dock accessories.

So many on here lack vision. First, everyone is reacting to a random mockup that will have no bearing on the final design - so enough of the Samsung curve comparisons (yawn). Second, a truly seamless piece of glass is intriguing... I think the basic idea they're going for is that whole 'Minority Report' aesthetic where you're able to hold a piece of physical technology, but it 'feels' like something more organic and fluid. How they create something like that which doesn't shatter into a million pieces - who knows. But Apple has been innovative with material design before - albeit a while ago.

Why would I want a display on the narrow edges where I hold it? They planning to run a sports or stock ticker around the perimeter? I'd be covering it with a case anyway.
Any cover made for it would have a cut out for the edge screen, or people would freak

Well looks like I’ll be saving money that year 🤣. I’ve been iPhone since the 3s but jumping ship next year if they can’t improve on the 14 Pro / Pro Max and iOS 18 as a tough, reliable business phone.

Face ID was available in other phones for a decade previous?
I do agree with you on the price adjustment though. Next year will see a similar reset IMHO.
It's the Kinect sensor technology from Xbox which was released in 2010. They acquired the company who developed the technology and just shrunk it down into the notch.

When you think about it the notch just looks like a mini Kinect sensor.

Curved glass screen, solid state buttons, underscreen Face ID……after 20 years not to much to ask from Apple
