Anyone else having an issue with talk and text freezing up on and off after the 8.2 update?? I've restored my phone, took the SIM card out twice, and reset my network settings!

I am experiencing the same freezes, although not quite as often as 8.2. I've had to reboot as many as a half dozen times in a fourteen hour day.

You have to reboot your phone 6 times every 14 hours? Damn. (I am not being sarcastic, I feel bad for you, seriously). :/

And my note 2 which 3 years old with 2ram is perfect for multitasking without reloading even got multiwindow

That's really bad. I would switch to something else if that happens to me, having to reboot 6 times a day. It's like the bad old days with computers.

None of the iPhone I have since the 3 had this problem. The last time I rebooted my 6 was when I loaded a bad compile of an app I was developing and testing. Otherwise, it has been so stable to the point of being boring.

Thanks god memory issue will be fixed with iphone 6s. 2gb on air 2 is a joy to use. It's about time for apple to put 2gb of ram in 2015 phone!

This thread has all kinds of crazy in it. Of course 1GB of RAM is not enough for iPhone 6, and we all know that. I can't count the amount of times I have been playing a game and it sent me "Low Memory" alerts. This goes all the way back to iPhone 3G. It is completely unacceptable. But Apple has just always laughed it off "Oh, 128 MB is more than enough."

I own several phones, and now if I want to do gaming (on a phone, that is) I usually go for the Note 4. But honestly, I much prefer iOS and actually just keep my iPad Air 2 with me everywhere I go (with wireless) so that I can actually enjoy iOS. My iPhone 6 + is collecting dust.

Could you tell me hoe the note 4 is? I still thinking to get the note 4 instead of the 6+.

You don't understand how RAM works, likely because you've used nothing but iOS devices and the concept of free RAM is foreign to you. ;)

Now let me show you the same set up, but from my iPad Air 2 with 2gb of RAM. See the difference?

Good examples showing how the iPhone is struggling with ram constraints. 2gb on the iPad is a winner

I get random freezes and after 10-15 seconds the phone recovers, though nothing resulting in having to reboot.

How often are you on your phone in that period?

I had hoped it was the 2012, which just had a bad processor. That stinks that it isn't working well for you, sorry to hear that.

Don't get me wrong: my nexus is working well for me.
I really think all the "reloads" complains are just a non existent issue for me.
On any platform (my Lumia with 2 Gb of ram has reloads too).

I can't believe you, and the demonstration is that "low memory" alerts exists under Android, but they didn't exist under iOS.
Nice try.

This is one of those moments I regret not having taken screen shots. Many games have in-app notifications for low memory, including Vector Unit. I've had low memory notifications for Beach Buggy Blitz and Beach Buggy Racing. iOS used to have a stock low memory notification, but I haven't seen it since with 3G/3GS models.

More of the same

Do you play clash of clans? Every time you launch clash of clans it will cause a splashboard crash. There is some thing wrong with the code in the app that causes it. I clear out my log every day!

I think people are thinking too much about the ram and it's ruining their expirence! The A8 is so damn fast that apps reload almost instantly anyway! I don't understand all the whining!

Edit: it could be a problem if you are primarily using cell data... It might be a nice little scheme between Apple and the cell carries. More reloading. More data used cha-Ching! $$$ Or its just bad programming in safari.

I'm jailbroken and yeah the safari tab reloads are a little annoying but all other apps that are 32 bit stay in ram just the same for me if I'm not using safari. Safari just uses a ton of ram on even the most basic pages it seems. Maybe it has something to do with the 64 bit? Sure a little more ram will help some day but sitting on here complaining is just wasting your time and feeding your OCD.

I feel like I'm having the same RAM issues and my phone is constantly freezing and becoming unresponsive. I don't have a jailbroken phone. Has anyone been able to get their phone replaced with AppleCare because of this issue?

Try using an iPhone 4S. Apps constantly refresh. Just switching between safari and tapatalk I'll lose everything I've typed it's infuriating at times.

The iphone 5 and newer is clearly better with its 1gb of ram. It's like a breath of fresh air. Apps staying loaded is one of the first things I noticed.

That said I've had some apps annoying reload with my 6 when I wish they wouldn't have. Thing that makes me nervous is it took until iOS 7 before I even started to notice an issue with the 4S. I'm already noticing it on the 6 on its first iOS release.

To make matters worse is new devices moving forward will have 2gb of ram. That means devs will be taking advantage of it speeding up how noticeable the 6's lack of ram is.

Overall I'm not that concerned with it. Nothing I can do about it but complain and that's not getting us anywhere.

As much as I harped about the 1gb of RAM in the iPad Air, I honestly have not had an issue with the 6 Plus. Runs fast and I can have a lot of tabs open at one time without refresh. I just think the problem was more acute with the iPad.

It's at an all time low for me...

I cant even view this page without Safari crashing and reloading the page

Even Chrome crashes and closes... This is pathetic. Maybe Apple doesn't want me looking at Gshock watches lol #

I didnt close any apps in multitasking list, opened that site, scroll it down and up like crazy, go to athlete page, swipe back, scroll it up like crazy. I cant make the safari crashing.

I have no problem viewing that page just now. As a matter of fact, I can't remember the last time Safari crashed on me.

Terrible. I thought it was just me. Apps freeze all the time.
Even scrolling through this thread on tapatalk is lagging.

Can we start a class action suit for more ram.
... Not caused by ram ...

iOS devices have never been advertised for multitasking. They run one app or webpage at a time. It has always been this way. The NAND flash inside these devices is not compareable to ssds inside real computers. There is no swap or proper memory management. The soft- and hardware architecture is note geared towards a reliable multitasking workflow.

Complaining about the inability of iOS devices to keep browser tabs and apps open without refresh when switching between them, is like complaining that your screwdriver is such a bad hammer.
