I keep hearing that those who got the 24/4 release date are 'the lucky ones', however I can't speak for anyone else but I don't feel lucky. I just feel like I woke up early enough and was quick enough to press "order".

Should I be feeling lucky, is there more to it ? How do you guys feel?

I feel sorta lucky, partly because the shipping dates slipped extremely fast (especially for the SG). Another reason I feel lucky was because there was a phone number error when I was trying to check out, and I had to fix it which wasted valuable seconds. Despite this, I still got the earliest window.

Also, I fell for the "Get it faster" button lol!

Depends how you look at it. I guess we were the eager ones. I know most of my friends didn't even know when it was on preorder and now the interest is building everyone's pretty pissed about the June delivery time.

Feel lucky. It was tough getting into the system to order the Watch.

"The Lucky Ones" are just the ones that knew to use the Apple Store App from what I have seen.

I went straight to the SS w/ link bracelet at 12:01AM but it already had delayed shipping. I don't think this one ever even had a 4/24 ship date. I ended up buying the Milanese as I already planned on buying it and it had a 4/24 date then ordered the Link separately which arrives one week after my Watch with Milanese.

First I'm not one of the "lucky ones". The Apple Store did not come up on my iMac (refreshed constantly), iPhone or iPad (using the Apple Store app) until after 3 am EST. I ordered at the soonest possible moment (when it finally came up), selected it from my favorites, ordered and only made it into the second delivery window (May 13 - May 26). Soooo, I would have felt very lucky, indeed, if I had made it to the first delivery window.

That sucks. It's strange that the store worked for only some people.

i used the app, had all my info loaded, store app crashed, got my order in.... had 24th stated when i hit the button and ended up with later date in email confirmation....

Just so you know some people who ordered 2-3 minutes after you may have ended up with a May or June ship date. So yes, you ARE a lucky one.

Yea I feel lucky. I set up Apple pay 15 minutes before pre order and successfully received a 4/24 launch date with the Apple Store app. I got a 42 sport with the black band

You make your own luck. Want it on the 24th? You should have set your alarm clock. Same thing with anything else. You want it, you've got to put in the effort.

Setup your credit card, addresses, etc. once it goes live, there's no time for hang-ups.

Leather strap and classic buckle for the fiancee ordered at 12:01am from the app and both had 4-6 week ship time which makes me wonder if either of these were 4/24 ship times.

After placing my order, I saw that the rubber straps were still showing 4/24 ship times. Probably should have ordered those and then just bought the leather straps. Oh well.

I'm hoping my ship time is over-estimated :)

I guess I thought I was just prepared as best as I could be and quick. But after some of the stuff I've read I guess I was lucky. Two watches ordered in two different orders and both in the first delivery window. And no I did not buy 2 so I can return one. One's for the wife and the others for me.

I agree with your premise (you make your own luck) but it's not as simple as setting your alarm clock. I didn't even go to bed until I ordered. Was refreshing both my Mac (Apple web site) and iPad (store app) and actually got into the web site while the store app still wasn't available. It was probably :03 when I finally got in. I did manually enter in my info which might have wasted a minute. My confirmation email was at :07. I was left with the 2nd wave (May 13-27). My original order page did show the 1st wave delivery times. This is my first pre-order. Wondering if previous Apple products hinged on whether you were in the first 2 or 3 minutes of the start time...

I also fell for that, cost me a min , also I saw Milanese 42 was 4/24-5/8 so I checked the SS white band to see if it was 4/24 flat out, it wasn't so went back to my Milanese 42 and hit purchase with my pre entered debit card.
All said and done it was 12:03pst I got my email
Yea I feel lucky punk

i do think I am lucky as I did not use the Apple Store App but using the online store (It wasn't available till 12:02). I still managed to get the 24/4 delivery date with my 38mm Sports Black model! :D

Nope, hinged on if you were in first hour or so, but site and app were down sometimes for 30-45 min at first only certain people could get through, then you would get all the way through and it would be error start over
I knew to go right to the app

My experience disagrees with your statement. My confirmation email was 7 minutes after the start time and I didn't make the 4/24 range. It hinged on the first 5 minutes.

Not all watches had a 4/24 date. The link band for example was 4-6 weeks right off the bat. Many people got up on time and had no chance of getting the model they wanted because it never had a 4/24 date.

I'm in Australia and to me it seemed like the servers for the store had to connect in America, on my windows pc, MacBook Air and iPhone constantly refreshing I could only connect via the iPhone through the app after 10 mins the preorder started... I managed to get the second delivery but boy I was a bit stressed thinking the watch would have sold out.

I think most of the "lucky ones" where you guys over in the U.S.!

Anyone on here from Australia?

Ps I ordered the 42mm black sport
