If he plays at Anfield then hopefully he'll help balance out the pitch a bit

You can't see it on the tellybox but from the stands you can see that the pitch dips down in one corner, Windass might be able to level it out by standing at the other end ;)

– I believe the centre circle there is still heavily potholed thanks to Jan Molby's dainty footwork. :p

Nah, that's a myth. The subs bench is a gamble, though.

Just a reminder to everyone... the deadline to have your final team in place is this Saturday morning at 11.30am – that's GMT for all you foreign imports. ;)

After this time, you won't be able to make more than one change per game week unless you incur a points penalty or if you're playing your one-off wild card, so if you want to make some drastic changes to your squad now is the time to do so.

At the time of posting we've got 27 clubs in place, so things are shaping up nicely. :)

+1 now.

So far my 1st team is:

Myhill

Terry
Laursen
Mendy

Ballack
J Cole
Kranjcar
Alonso

Torres
Defoe
Cole

Subs:

Gomes
Wheater
N'Zogbia
Malbranque

Should be interesting, with the 2 token Hull City players. I want a 1-0 win to Hull with Mendy getting the winner, and hopefully he won't give away any penalties!

This is what I don't like about fantasy leagues. Here I am with Berbatov as one of my strikers, which is a good situation to be in. For fantasy purposes, even if he goes to Man U I'm still in good shape, since it's easy to imagine him scoring many goals there too. But if he somehow goes to Barca (as some rumors allege) then I've got to find another striker since he'd be out of the EPL. But as a Spurs fan, I'd prefer him to go to Barca than to help Man U beat us at least twice a year. So confusing.

Yeah, the eternal fantasy vs reality sports dilemma, it's terrible. I always hate the week your 'real' team is playing the team that contains your fantasy keeper. (Unless of course your fantasy team has you real team's keeper)

So if Berbatov goes to Barca as rumoured do I get the current asking price for him or what I paid, if there is a difference? Also, can I replace him without penalty if I've already made my transfer for the week? Seems kind of weak if I get dinged for him leaving the Premiership altogether.

I would have thought you'd get the standard transfer fee rules the game uses, which are...

If you sell a player for a higher price than you paid, then a sell-on fee of 50% (rounded up to the nearest 0.1 million) will be applied on the profits. For example, if you buy a player for 4.2 million and when you transfer him his value is 4.5 million then you will only receive 4.3 million.

As for the transfer itself...

What happens when a player changes teams?
If this takes you over the players per team limit, then you will need to go back under the limit when making your next transfers.

...so for example if he goes to Manchester United you don't have to make any changes, unless you already have three of their players in your squad. However, if he goes abroad...

My player has left the Premier League, what do I do?
You can leave them in your team and they will continue to score 0 points. To change them you must use a transfer.

...so you're not forced to transfer him immediately, but naturally it's in your best interests to get a replacement in at the earliest opportunity. There was a situation last year where Kasper Schmeical left the Premier League to go on loan (to Championship outfit Cardiff City, if memory serves) – he was in my team at the time but I wasn't forced into making an immediate transfer to replace him.

Hope that's cleared everything up for you – and don't forget, you've only about an hour-and-a-quarter left to decide if you want to include the goal-bothering Bulgarian in your squad. ;)

Curses! I'd installed Caleb Folan as one of my strikers, only to replace him with Marlon King as I thought he'd be more likely to start. Sure enough, it was King who was handed the starting spot, only to make way for Folan later in the game who went on to score the winning goal.

Not that I'm complaining, mind. ;)

Eff. Eff. Eff.

I was replacing Jo on my team and thought I'd stick in one of the Aston Villa strikers Carew (Norwegian) or Agen...bo...ddddd... (worse name than mine) and I - stupid as I am - chose Carew...

Well, Kranjcar is hurt. Out for three months

I've replaced him with Geovanni, though I wish I had the money for Elano. I hope Vidic doesn't go to Spain as rumored since he anchors my defense.

If Crouchy doesn't start scoring I'm going to have to do something about it. Ditto Windass.

I'm actually looking to play my transfer wild card this week. That's how ace things are at the Stad d'Dual-Cores. :p

I might have to take a points deduction and do some more transferring - losing Kranjcar was bad, but now I've lost Gerrard and Malbranque. My midfield is a shambles. I think I'll go for Deco and Elano if I can swing it financially.

I made the mistake of slotting Berbatov as my striker, as I figured his issues would be resolved by now, one way or another. I guess I can wait until after the transfer deadline to see what happens, but if he ends up staying and sulking for Spurs, then I'll have to move him. I doubt he'll produce now if he stays.

Well I played the wild card on my transfers tonight.

IN:

Kompany
Yakubu
Ashton
Denilson
Seol

OUT:

Defoe
Cole
Mendy
Alonso
Kranjcar

Lets see what happens this weekend, up the Tigers!

With Everton getting bashed...and my team filled with Everton players...this wasn't the best of weekends...

But the Sunday results did make somewhat up for it... ;)

I'm rapidly losing patience with Torres. Assuming that none of my other mis-firing stars pick up injuries this week I'm going to show him the door.

Thus, expect him to get a hat-trick next weekend.

I felt the same about Adebayor, but dutifully stuck by him as my captain.
Was very chuffed when he scored a hattrick last week!

Although typically, I got rid of Defoe just before he started scoring...
