Well it's not letting me in, and loads of people on Twitter are saying the same.
I wasn't going to make any changes, was just going to join an additional another league if that's ok with you. Sorry, I didn't think we had to be monogamous.

Not much use; still log in problems at 2:30 this morning (UK), okay at 7:40, and blocked again by 8:30

Some teams don't appear in the leagues their details show them belonging to, the vice-captain option is there but no longer shown on the Pitch View...

I hate my life and I wanna die, I ain't got no FPL:eek:

Cheers,
OW

I don't require monogamy, just the soul of your first born. Haven't you read the League Handbook?

People's experiences seem to vary – some got through to the site (as I did for a spell earlier this morning), some are completely locked out, others have got in but are reporting craziness and glitches. All in all, it's a pretty poor show from the folk running the site.

If I find that a software glitch has added Fabregas to my midfield I'm not going to be happy...

I can now – I've made a couple of last minute changes. Hopefully they're all logged.

If you aren't signed up before 11.30am, you can still sign up later but you'll miss out on a week's points. Or, to coin a phrase, you'll 'tristangage' yourself. ;)

Actually you won't tristangage yourself unless you join in the middle of the third gameweek of the season. That's how I roll ;)

And I still didn't come last place!! Not bad for a fantasy first timer (and I only got back into football about this time last year too!)

Really looking forward to this next season :)

Well then, as I start to type this post we're half-an-hour away from kicking off the 2011-12 season. 23 teams were registered in time for the Gameweek 1 deadline, lining up this season are...

  • Coatsy's Bayern Bru
  • pivo6's Brainerd FC
  • xUKHCx's Bushey Fighters
  • Lord Blackadder's Cleveland AFC
  • Kofi's Fabulous Boys
  • andrewstephenso's FFM
  • pjlander's Fightin' Shrooms
  • Fizzoid's Fizzy's Flyers
  • leomac08's Furia Negra
  • oscillatewildly's Neutron Heath
  • Nieval's Nieval's Angry Mob
  • Silencio's No Value
  • swiftaw's Omaha Latics
  • Fuzzy14's Renfrew Meerkats
  • timsutcliffe's Rugby United
  • bymyinitials' Saulo's XI
  • My own Sporting Dual-Cores
  • Tilpots' Stoplights
  • mouchoir's Szczesny Hawks
  • Phil A's Telford Blues
  • Stridemat's Thigh High Socks
  • adamtoone's Tooney's United
  • tristangage's Woodsmoor Wanderers

Thanks for signing up guys, and I hope you enjoy the competition this season – and I hope that the problems the Premier League site has been experiencing in the last 24 hours has caused minimal disruption to your preparations.

Usually I leave registration for the League open until the end of August, so if you've not got your name down yet there's still time – you just run the risk of missing out on a week or two's worth of points. The Cup fixtures are automatically set at the first deadline, so entry to that competition is now closed.

jackboddy – you'll need our code to enter the MacRumors League. As you're a newbie though you don't yet have PM privileges, but we'll sort out a way to get you the code if you want in.

Hmm. The scores weren't 'live updating' during today's matches, and having just checked a few moments ago I've still not been allocated any points for the players I had in action this afternoon.

I assume they're going to be totted up later – I read that bonus points for all games won't be allocated until Monday – but several hours after the final whistle the lack of updates on how we're faring is very poor form.

Still, sitting here looking at my team having scored a big fat zero points at least gives me an insight into how Fuzzy feels every week. ;)

Same for me, but I'll keep my brick throwing and arson to a minimum. For now...

Thanks for flagging that up, pivo6 – I suppose the key point is...

1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.

So basically the free transfer deadline is extended, and we're free to tinker with our teams without penalty up to 11.30am this Saturday (Englandshire time). If you make changes at the time of writing, you may well be deducted points but they'll be restored to your tally.

Looks like Aguero may be one to add to my watchlist. That was a screamer of a goal!

I wish I could take credit, but thanks should go to @georgiebingham who mentioned it on twitter.

I wish we could see how we fared against each other or even find out who we played in the Cup. I put 55 up and am quite happy, but I'd like to see how I measure up before I get too high.

I had El Diego's son-in-law in my team but took him out in some last minute tinkering, correctly assuming he wouldn't be a starter. Mind, I wasn't reckoning with him coming of the bench and doing that. :D

His band wagon is certainly going to be a popular one to jump on this week – but will Mancini now be starting him?

I believe that the cup only starts in Week 2.
Hmm – I had put us down for a Week 1 start for the Cup, but no fixtures have been generated or anything. Looking in the Admin panel, it's now not got a start date in the settings.

Right, I'll make an In Charge Of The League Chap decision – I'll reset it for a Week 2 start and hopefully we'll go from there.

The £38 million price tag didn't already add him to your watch list

24 points from the lad this week. Not bad. :D

I am taking a punt and switching my team up. Really looking to settle it down before the summer transfer window ends.
