The iPhone hasn’t been “exciting” since the frenzy to get the first few models. At the start of the iPhone, it was “cool and desirable” to get and show off the latest model because they looked different and were a status thing. Now all phones by all brands are more or less the same and impossible to really tell them apart (apart from perhaps the folding). I believe Apple is just happy keeping these largely iterative upgrades and are gradually beginning their roadmap to phase out the iPhone as we currently know it over the next decade. Each iPhone from here will phase in more Vision features and connectivity until basically just becomes one…

I don’t think anything “game-changing” could happen without some kind of radical redesign or new functionality that completely changes how we use a phone. As of right now, I think the Watch has the most potential to “wow” us.

The next thing to blow people away will be the helicopter (drone style) taxis that pick you up from your backyard and drop you off on top of a building.
