I've changed my thoughts on Justine. I actually like her alot. I used to think she was some vapid mouthpiece simping for Apple but after watching a number of her videos she's actually pretty knowledgeable on tech. Moreso than I gave her credit for.
I've never thought she was unknowledgeable, but if you're looking for a balanced review of a tech device--meaning a straightforward assessment of both pros and cons--there are probably better sources.

I have no problem with iJustine.

She does not pretend to be something she is not. She does not pretend to be an expert. She does not pretend to be non-biased.

I always find her exaggerated optimism a nice balance to my rational and always spot-on cynicism about Apple.

It's nice to dream and be happy.

But if her personality is not your cup of tea, that's fair too. There are a bunch of people I find annoying due to personal preference, but I am OK with iJustine.

If only your sentiments were valid. The issue is her lack of sincerity. Go back and watch some of her videos, especially pre-Covid. She would steer you into a wall and show you no respite. Don’t conflate contrived enthusiasm with passion for technology.

She's clearly enthused and passionate about technology, just maybe not on an ultra technical level, but that's fine. I agree with the person you responded to, people with snide remarks about her are deeply unhappy in their lives. Normal well adjusted people don't make such a big deal about something they claim to not even like.

Media that were invited to the event, like Justine, should all be going home with review devices direct from apple. They’ll have a few days to use and then upload their reviews when the embargo lifts, likely next Wednesday.

I would guess this is for her own personal device
I'm okay with that kind of stuff. Give them a sample one temporarily for review and then return it after X days. If they like it, buy one. I've watched a few of her videos, and have to wonder how that works. Do these companies give the devices for her to keep or just temporarily? Does she get them for free or does she pay for them? I also have to wonder how much makes from these reviews? I know she has tons of subscribers, so how much does she make off them and ads?

I'm mixed on her. While I like positive vibes, but sometimes she seems overly positive, fake, and out of touch. I remember seeing her 2019 Mac Pro video with the XDR display. She was so amazed by how the display magnetically attaches to the stand. She went over and hugged it, saying "OMG! Don't let anyone tell you you're not worth $999!" Okay, sure, the people/companies that really need a display like that probably have that kind of money, but is magnetically attaching *really* need to be $999? And seems out of touch with less financially fortunate people.

Investors as are not please with the new line up. The newest iPhone line up saw a record drop for an iPhone unveiling. Over 7% drop directly after the announcement. That’s massive for an iPhone unveiling. Investors and buyers want something new to drive revenue. While competing brands are innovating into newer markets with folding devices and more unique features Apple has steep competition. Investors and customers have made it clear, innovate or watch the markets decide your value.
Undoubtedly these phones will sell. There is no illusions to that, but it’s becoming ever clear the same old formula isn’t doing Apple any favors.
Unless we see major design changes with the next iPhone, stock value won’t go back into the green in the foreseeable future. The walled garden is starting to see major cracks. Regulatory measures from the EU and China are partially to blame. But the EU forcing Apple to play fair hasn’t helped its bottom line.

let’s hope the iPhone 16 isn’t more of the same.

She's not as dumb as some make her out to be. In fact she's pretty smart and extremely technical when you drill into the content. What she is able to do is bridge the gap between the technical discussion and a non-technical audience. That's a people skill which very few have.

I’m not a fan of YouTube tech reviewers in general. Because their content is kinda biased and in favor of the tech brands as they sell it as “a balancing act” lol.

But it kinda makes me sad to see people talking so negatively about iJustine. I’m sure she’s a kind lady with a genuine heart.

There’s a lot of hate in this thread. Dang!

Ironically how I feel about her goes back to how much I’ve grown to despise Alex Lindsay. He became absolutely insufferable on MacBreak. Alex and Leo fawned over her at every opportunity To the point to where it started getting a little weird.

I can‘t help but think of those two whenever I see her. Worst part is Justine and Alex are from my neck of the woods. Who doesn’t want to support “the hometown hero’s”?

Y'all are doing too much on Miss Justine Ezarik.

I love watching her reviews. She always tries to see the positive, but still always gives an honest opinion. Also, her behind the scenes videos are great and she shows the lengths it takes to film and produce content on a regular basis.

On another note, Hartley must've been tired AF since the UK is so many hours ahead 😂

Her mother also passed away in June 2023 and she was herself was really ill with a blood clot in 2022. Yet she still goes on to be happy in her videos and bring sunshine to others lives.

I always like her videos and enthusiasm so long may it continue alongside her success.

I agree, I'm not a fan of her YouTube channel but I enjoy her participation to the MR show. She is very knowledgable and has interesting (and not overly optimistic) insights. Clearly, she has a very characteristic style on her channel, but she can adapt to different crowds. And I think that some people are harder on her because she is a woman, but that doesn't mean that she can't be criticized for the objectivity of her reviews
