A screen can’t replicate reality 100%. Sorry. Dream all you like, but it can’t.
Yeah the only reality you need to worry about is a reality check 😛

Photons reaching your retinas dont care if they were formed on a 27" monitor or a tiny square 1 inch from your face. They both as "real" as one another my dude.

Believe whatever you like. No skin off my nose.

Never mind compression and refresh rate, let alone color fidelity and any number of other factors.

But sure. A screen… the real world… basically the same thing.

Vision platform will be really popular when the thing gets lighter and cheaper. This implies a passive set of glasses, connected to the computer or iPhone, as an interface-controlling device (similar to a mouse and keyboard). Vision Pro is a full computer on your nose. This artifact will be heavy and expensive for many years.

I worry about health issues. I will let the fist wave of buyers be the control group. The more they sell, the more data points.

I wish them great success, and good luck!

Barring a massive revolution in battery technology the idea of glasses as opposed to goggles is not going to happen. As you note, you’d have to be tethered to some kind of battery pack/computational base and that defeats the whole usability of glasses versus goggles.

More importantly, if Apple can’t convince a majority of people that it’s cool to wear goggles they may never see the demand necessary to justify continuing with the effort. It’s very possible that people don’t want to wear a computer on their face. That they don’t actually want to live inside their iPhones.
