Before you continue your "our society is doomed" tirade, if you watched the video and other related videos of the same girl, which I assume you didn't...

No reason to watch the video. You proved in your post that you don't understand the first thing about science. That's why he thinks society is doomed, not because of what's in the video.

Bluetooth was off.
I tested it with airplane mode too.

Trust me I was hoping the readings would be non existent. I really wanted to keep the watch

Would love for someone to prove that the watch is safe and only gives off static on airplane mode.

Well I learned something today... The watch does have an airplane mode...

To Turn on Airplane Mode. Swipe up on the watch face, swipe to the Settings glance, then tap the Airplane Mode button. The Connected status at the top of the screen changes to Disconnected. Or open the Settings app settings icon, then tap Airplane Mode. When Airplane Mode is on, you’ll see [Airplane mode icon] at the top of the screen.

To sell this watch, Apple has to get it to pass FCC part 15. I just dug out my Apple watch box and inside is a pack of little paperwork. On one single slip of paper is a section called "Regulatory" and immediately below it is a section called "IC and FCC Compliance..." which contains the following sentence: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules.

You can download and read FCC part 15 at your leisure here (at fcc.gov). Meanwhile...

Here's some tinfoil so you can go make that hat...

So, after trying a 38mm SS for 10 days and deciding it wasn't for me as it was too small and returning it, and then suffering the interminable wait for a 42mm SS, 2 days ago I returned that as well after living with it for just shy of 2 weeks.

Nicely built piece of kit, but just not essential. Not even, in truth, a nice-to-have bit of technology.

Too often it just would not wake up. Had to continually flick the wrist just to see the time. Must have got used to the haptic feedback as often I would not feel that a notification had come in. Other times, would feel it easily. Not enough watch faces. Would have liked a Roman numeral one. Just not enough functionality that wasn't reliant on the phone. Not enough functionality at all really.

No Apple pay in Australia, and no sign of it, removed a bit of functionality I would have used.

Lovely screen but, due to the rectangular shape, seemed to have a bit of, I don't know, wasted space? Hard to describe. I WANTED to love it, ended up just liking it. Not worth my near on $900.

After you've played with the faces and the complications so many times, there's just no need for it. Nor, in my particular case, a want for it.

The force touch? No real drop dead use for it on the watch. But I see how it may be usable on the next phone...

Give me my phone, with a proper useable display and usable apps any day.

Trust everyone else enjoys theirs!

What else should I base it on. I liked the watch for various reasons except for the readings I got from my emf. I kept digging and digging to see if electro magnetic fields or radiation or Bluetooth are safe and got nothing.
The only positive info I got was to use moderation.

Base it on science and intelligence. You didn't. Get a real accurate meter. Given your fears, what you will find will scare the "..." out of you. You will move into a wood shack in the middle of nowhere, with no electronics, etc. But don't worry, there will still be things around you that can harm you. Oh, and don't ever get an X-ray. The dose you get will be many tens of thousands of times more powerful than what the watch puts out. You could just melt on X-ray room floor.

Frankly, I really feel sorry for you and the all the rest who substitute ignorance and fear for true understanding and an intelligent and real scientific approach to an issue. That's why we are doomed. The internet has guaranteed that there are just too many like this and it's so easy to spread this nonsense and gather followers.

I've been pretty happy with mine. The hardware is excellent, the software is disappointing after the amount of time Apple has spent working on it. Given that customers outside the US pay 20%+ more than US customers, I'd have a hard time justifying it in their position.

After switching over from the original Pebble I am still loving the Apple Watch. The notifications, reminders and calendar keep me organized and it's easier then pulling out my iPhone every time I get a notification. The activity tracking persuades me to go to the gym more too. And it looks a million times better then the original Pebble.

Thanks for starting a new thread with another of the same old story and then the same responses. Fine, the watch isn't for you. Every single reason for not liking the watch has already been described. And all the reasons for liking it and responding to this has been described. We do need a dedicated personal story thread.

For what it's worth, I've had the watch since day one. It continues to be absolutely perfect for me and does everything, and more, than I expected and wanted. "Wasted space" for a rectangular shape. "Hard to describe". For me your credibility went out the window with this statement.

The whole website is overtaken with Apple Watch as it is. I'm happy folks are enjoying them, but I couldn't care less about the Watch. All these pointless threads simply increase the clutter for everyone, Watch lovers and Watch meh'ers alike.

If you could care less about the  Watch, why are you reading threads in the  Watch forum ??

I think you're being unreasonably pedantic. It's called casually browsing New Posts in the forum. Sadly, one can no longer exclude specific forums in the New Posts search as could be done under vB. The three or four Watch forums along with the Politics forum (why is that even here?!?) would top my list of excluded forums.

When I refer to "clutter" I am referring to the New Posts search results which is hopelessly littered with Apple Watch posts. It is unavoidable.

And to be honest, I click on the "I returned my Watch because..." threads every so often just to see if someone has found a new reason to dislike the thing which I haven't already thought of. So far, no luck.

OP, do you grasp that you're inundated every moment of the day by "somethings?" I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm just saying that all sorts of invisible forces are at work in the world around you, that doesn't make them harmful.

IF ApplePay was active in Australia it may have been the watch's saving grace for me. That's A REASON, though not a reason I DISLIKE it...I don't DISLIKE it...I just don't LIKE it enough

My Apple watch charger failed the other day. I got back from out of town, plugged the usb into the charging brick and tossed my watch on its magnet. I assumed it was charging. It was not. So when I went for a run later in the day only to find the watch down at 30% I thought something had gone wrong. Later I found the usb wasn't plugged in all the way. I pushed it in and now the watch charges fine. What I did do was wear one of my Citizen eco drive watches for a few hours while I waited for the Apple watch to charge up enough to use. I found I did miss the Apple watch. I agree with the OP that in its present form, Apple watch is definitely not a must have but I like it enough that I'm keeping mine.

This is an unfortunate oversight in terms of the functionality of the new look MR forums. It frustrates both people unable to cut forums they have no interest in and people who don't want to have to deal with posts on a topic from people who really (no offense) have nothing to add to the conversation because the topic isn't of interest to them.

That said, I fully agree with you about having one thread for all the "I don't like the Watch" posts, and even said so yesterday-- the last time this came up.

I'll say I've only had mine for a day and a half. So far I have played golf today (and without taking my phone out of my pocket it shows me the distance to the green - front, back and center, as well as automatically keeping my score for me!!), and everytime I leave my house or return home I can set and disarm my security system from my wrist, as well as open or close my garage door (which will be helpful when I go for a bike ride), and I don't use any complications - I like a very simple version of the Utility face - except for the temperature.

I've also sent and responded to texts, seen who is calling when my phone is across the room, a lots of other handy things without removing my 6+ from my pocket or grabbing it off the counter. It lets me know about emails so I can pull out my phone to read important ones. And my phone is what I want to use for most things that need a screen, but this allows me to take care of little things that don't involve reading or composing or accessing significant data.

Who knows maybe at 13.99 days I will decide to return it too, but for now I can see the utility and features are applicable on a daily basis beyond the novelty. I had a Pebble that I stopped wearing because it was ugly, and didn't have a rich feature set, though I will say I miss the face that had the time in words.

But I haven't owned a Fitbit and hated my first gen UP band because you had to sync it every time you wanted to see data or add an alarm, etc. so it is nice to have the whole fitness aspect and if some gadget makes me more conscious of how sedentary I am and gets me up and moving more, even exercising more, then that's not a bad thing either.

Even if I read thousands of these threads it would make no difference to what I and others think about the Apple Watch.

Its fine not to like the Apple Watch, in your case, not like it enough..........For me and many others its fantastic. No point mentioning all the reasons to you why I like it because you already made up your mind.

I will say, anything more than telling the time is a bonus for me and it does SO MUCH for me and gets better as I add apps to it.

When Apple Pay starts here in Australia it will be great and added to all the other great things about the Watch.

Great now and will get better in future...........you can't beat that :)

I agree with everyone on here. I will say this however.

I think anyone who bought the watch thinking it'd be more than a watch are the ones who are disappointed. I mean, it's a small screen, what did you think was going to happen on it, Safari? A Keyboard?

As Telefono says above, more than telling the time is a bonus for me. And it's only gonna get better with watchOS 2.0 and beyond.

Unfortunately that did not change the readings on my EMF. They were virtually the same and varied between .15 to .38 tesla.

38 - 15 = 23 !!

I'm sure The Number 23 is in the serial number of his watch too.
