I didn't judge "all of our morality". I was only questioning the behavior of a few throwing a true temper tantrum, because they couldn't get immediate gratification for something they must have now.

I know others have tried to explain this, but it doesn't seem to be getting through. The people who are throwing a hissy fit on this forum aren't really doing it in real life. They are expressing frustration. You don't have to worry that they are strapping on the weapons and preparing to go teach Apple a lesson.

Remember, just like you probably aren't really the person you appear to be online, neither are they.

So, you don't have to save their souls. Go in peace, brother.

Re-read the TITLE OF THE THREAD and tell us again that you weren't judging our morality.

Unless you're saying that sometimes we say things online that we don't really mean. If that is what you're saying, then apply it to the threads where people are flipping out.

ALL of us are more than just what you read in this forum.

have you been on the forums after a launch of a product ? For me people are just anxious for the product to ship at this stage, the real tantrums come when they don't get the "perfect" unit.

I think the people on the delivery dates threads are having a good time and entertaining themselves, like an online version of a store line. I even check in now and than to see what Crazy stuff they are discussing between content account updates.

Because MacRumors is the place to talk about starving orphans in some random country some 8000 miles away. Okay.. Don't like it don't be here. Simples. Go join the starving orphan forum and do your "do good" over there. Unfortunately not everybody cares about other worldy problems. If we focused on all the negative crap that happens in this world I think we'd all be medicated robots.

Bingo! There are a lot of keyboard warriors out there..... Though super nice when away from the keyboard :)

Reading this forum and seeing all the complaints is really
disturbing.
People up in arms at the possibility they may have to wait for their watch longer
than they would like.
Don't get me wrong I get excited with new product releases as much as the next Apple fan boy.
I however do not lose perspective! This is just another gadget.
Its sad when so many in this world don't know when they will get their next meal , or are suffering with illness and all some of you can think about is the tragedy of waiting for your watch. Some one posted what should we do while we wait for our watches. start by trying to contribute something to others.

Blah blah blah. Honestly, if that was your mentality, why are you posting? Do you know how many kids your internet service bill could go to feed?

Don't presume to tell people what they should care about.

How is this a moral issue? And why do you care if people are excited about a sizable investment they recently made, and are discussing their anticipation and reservations here on a forum dedicated to that subject matter?

Please don't try logic and reason; it escapes him.

I think you are being a tad harsh now with that comment.

Post a thread saying that you are going to sell your Apple watch on eBay, amazingly, suddenly you become an immoral person ;) . Some in our community struggle to understand what moral actually means.

Know what I'm doing while I "wait for my watch"? Working 55+ hours a week at my job. Seems to keep me busy enough. I can't wait for this Friday, and that's just because of work pressure. The Watch will be a very welcome "reward" if it arrives on Friday.

I feel your pain and hopes. I did 60hrs last week. hoping for Friday :D

There is no doubt about this. Could he gently remind people to maintain some perspective? Sure. I can get behind that because we all go a little nuts during product launches. Perspective is always good.

But he can't stroll into an active community of Apple fans and tell them their sense of morality is jacked up and expect us not to take him to task. Especially when he clearly doesn't have an adequate understanding of the vocabulary he's using to do so.

Well I did try to warn him that is the wrong place to start this fire.....

Best of luck to you. My past couple of weeks have been rough, but this week is actually looking to be generally a little less hectic. At least I have no trouble justifying my Apple Watch purchase when I know that I work hard for my paycheck, and that I can comfortably afford it.

I've given Mr Echo as much grief as anyone, all in good fun. He is right about a few apple dweebs who will whine and cry and scream about Fed Ex and call for the head of the nearest Apple employee that disappointed him in any way. Maybe it was a little silly to compare that to feeding starving children, but he wasn't over moralizing, just lending some perspective. If that offended any of you, I'm rather glad. :)

Do any of you read these forums? ;)
