I disagree, I like most of their other modern designs better (nexus, desire, incredible, evo, especially the legend)
I think the HTC 1 design is an improvement on them though, just personal opinion. I really wish the Legend was a standard for the higher end phones. I can't imagine how beautiful a uni-body Evo/Nexus, desire or incredible would be like. Hopefully this is in the pipeline. The one complaint I have about my incredible has been the plastic body.
I wonder if that concept would have existed if the iPhone 4 had kept the same look as the iPhone 3GS... 
EDIT: to clarify my idea... it basically just extends the concept of the iPhone 4 of having the purest lines you can get.

I think it'd look awesome without the aluminum at the top and bottom - all glass. But right now it's ugly.
I lol'd at the failure at reading comprehension demonstrated by the above-quoted post.
Concept = CGI / typically impractical cartoon drawings (aka flying cars) that won't happen anytime soon.
If this was the official iPhone 5, ppl would be jizzing in their pants right now.
Apple wouldn't put out a render that looked that bad.

HTC did not make this rendering. It was an amateur using HTC as a potential manufacturer. It's like the mock ups of new iPhones that come out yearly.

I'm aware of that. I'm saying the quality of the render prevents me from being able to make a value judgment on whether or not the design is aesthetically pleasing.

Its true. I mean how can we not forget the "OMG the prototype iPhone is a FAKE KIRF from a blind Chinese manufacturer! SO UGLY! SEAMS? A Step backwards! GROSS!".

Some people take aesthetics too seriously, which I respect. Others preach Apple Gospel far worse than the most annoying Christian Evangelists do. Which is hilarious.
