Picked up a Note 10+ and love it. I've had iPhones for the past several years now and likely will be moving on from here.

Except that it's not secure. I guess that minor detail doesn't matter as far as your financials are concerned.

In what ways is it less secure?

So the post you share as your evidence even has the title of:

Samsung Pay can be hacked, but it's 'extremely unlikely'

In the article itself the security researcher states this on his blog post:

The blog post finishes, "In summary, Samsung Pay's multiple layers of security make it extremely difficult to make a purchase by skimming a token."

So .... you're wanting to use this as your cited evidence still?

Did you not expect anyone to actually click the link to read the article?

Edit: Further, that's an article from 2016. I think those using Samsung Pay will be just fine. Also, since that is from 2016 can you find evidence that this ACTUALLY happened to someone in the real world?

WOW this design is beautiful and innovative.... shame about it being android though... true edge to edge, fingerprint ID under the screen and a smartly positioned front camera that takes up very little space... really jealous although I'm probably going to but the exact same (design) phone as I've done in the last 2-3 years...

It will be interesting to see how it holds up to scratching and wear.

I would imagine like any iPhone currently does without a case or other protective skin. Not very well.

Glass scratches, metal scratches, etc. My Xs Max looks awful currently.

Oh snap! That reality's gotta sting.

Why does it "gotta sting"? Most iPhone owners on here are fully aware that Samsung supplies various parts for the iPhone. I'm pretty sure the OP was talking about Android and Samsung's iteration of the software.

I've never felt like any of my iPhones, aside from the 5S, died quickly. In fact, it's always the Samedung users I see that are huddling around the open wall outlets and charging kiosks.

The Essential PH-1 was the first and only android phone that I've used that actually would make it through the day on a single charge. Prior to that phone, I've done everything from rooting, Greenifying, and installing custom ROMs in order to tweak schedulers, voltages, max frequencies, etc, just to last a single day (guess what... it wasn't successful).

Frankly, I wouldn't believe that any android phone with less than a 3500mah battery would last all day... if it's screen was 5" or less. The Note 10+ with only 4300mah? Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it (and since I have no intention of buying one... well I guess I'll never believe it).

One last time for the people in the back.

USB-C. IS. NOT. A. CHARGING. STANDARD. IT. IS. A. PORT.

We are in this never-ending trainwreck because android OEMs made up their own BS fast charging methods instead of sticking to the USB-PD standard. Because of that, we have uneducated users and now Apple news sites using USB-C interchangeably with the USB Power Delivery when it is in fact not. This is why I only buy USB-C cables from Apple, Anker, Nimble, and Google because they're the only ones that I know without having to deep-dive into spec sheets and comment sections are in spec.

Not only that, but Samedung's 45w charger is not USB-PD but instead their own BS, made-up "Adaptive Fast Charging." So no, your 60w Apple or Anker USB-PD charger will not charge this phone quickly.

You could have been worthy of a debate, but you lost me with the childish "samedung" remarks.

Oh my. Not just a no, but a hard no. You’re really getting serious now.

I use iPad Pros for work and my phone is a Pixel 3XL. I bet most of you making similar comments have nearly no experience with the current version of Android. That Apple Kool Aid is strong stuff. It’s hard strong.

I've learned in life that people have preferences. Some people like the color dark blue, some prefer light yellows. Some people prefer to work on Windows computers, others insist on using nothing but Linux. Try not to take it personally. You'll get thru this. Good luck.

Samsung makes Huawei less relevant every device it releases. Lets put Huawei back where it came from back into irrelevancy just like 5 yrs ago. Down the hole you go with your stolen tech and patents you will not be missed.

If they want to compete with just spec, any Chinese phone is better anytime anyday. Many people buy stuff based on brands.

I agreed with many buy stuff based on brands, just look at all the apple sheeps on here :/. But seriously? Any Chinese phone is better anytime any day? Are you serious? lol.

Apple at the least has iOS, which is not replicable on any other phone.
Samsung phones run the same apps as a $200 Xiaomi. Are they worth $1k? Many here think so because of the Samsung brand.

So with your logic, all android phones are the same because they can all run the same apps, and all iphones are the same too? So they all should cost the same too right? That's a very flawed logic my friend.

$200 iPod Touch runs the same apps as $1100 iPhone. Ready your apology in 3 2 1.

iPod Touch is not a phone. Oh, and they’re still made by Apple.

OnePlus already have a better screen than $1k Samsung for less. Huawei have better cameras than Samsung. What else do you have to justify $1k Samsung phone?

Err, how are they flawed? Tell me, what advantage do you have on a $1k Samsung over other less expensive Android phones? OnePlus already have the better screen. Huawei already have the better camera. Xiaomi has the same SD855 for like half the price. And they all run Android apps. So please enlighten me what does Samsung has to offer to justify the $1k premium?

All you Samsung fanboys are going to get toasted hard.

- Samsung's semi-conductor business is dead now that they can no longer import hydrogen fluoride from Japan. There goes their cash cow. Poof!!

- Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong is getting his buns tossed into prison for +25 years on 29th.

etc, etc.

With president Moon doing everything in his power to destroy conglomerates on top of everything falling apart fast in S.Korea, your beloved Samsung may not be around for much longer.

I think you misunderstand the typical Android flagship user. If they have chosen a Samsung device, it isn't out of loyalty to or love of a corporation. They simply choose the device they feel suits them best. Attacking Samsung is unlikely to hurt many people's feelings.

That said, the situation for Samsung is not nearly as dire as you make it out to be. The supply of hydrogen fluoride from Japan is not halted. It just requires more bureaucracy, which means it has to be ordered further in advance. Other suppliers can't match Japan's quality, but this might just result in Chinese and other companies to step up their game more quickly.

I wasn't posting about most iPhone owners though. I was posting about a post. And a silly one in my estimation.

When did you use Android last? Ever?
I know your question wasn't posed to me but I'd just like to state something on the subject.

My last version of iOS was 12.x I'm on Android 9 on an S10. My main PC is Mac and I literally miss nothing about iOS or iPhone. I have too much flexibility now to do so.

Bias makes some people blind.

u mean google software, cause internally iphone has samsung parts too

Thats outdated information.
At one point yes the processor, screen, Ram, and storage were Samsung.

But not in the last three years.
Apple currently only sources the oled display from Samsung.

Processor tsmc
Ram sk Hynix and micron
Storage Toshiba.

If rumors hold true lg and boe will begin supplying oled displays to apple, Further minimizing Samsung’s contribution to the iPhone.

Note sales seem to be good so far. They had 1 million pre orders in South Korea alone

Actually sales have been dismal.

Preorders looked attractive in Korea because of heavy subsidies and large discounts, in fact it was deemed illegal and the government had to come in and stop the carriers from giving a 700,000 won discount with preorders. The note cost around 1,000,000 won in Korea.

Note 9 only sold 9.6 million units in its first year of sales, that’s a long way from peak note sales, the note 4 sold 10 million units in 2 months.

Comparatively the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR sold 16 million units each in q1 2019 and many non iPhone users on the forum regard them as sales failures for varying nonsensical reasons.

No point to argue with you any longer but just a FYI the Notes have the best screens. It just doesn't have the 90hz but the screen is much more brighter and vibrant. You should go out and hold the phone in person to compare. Don't just stay home and watch youtube videos or read online reviews.

Problem is Samsung can't provide documents required to get the goodies.
Hint: N.Korea, Iran, Syria plus China & nukes, VX gas, etc.
And only Japan is capable of producing 12N quality (99.9999999999%) hydrogen fluoride.

Game over!!

This is simply wrong. Japan just approved another 9 month supply for Samsung. That means they have 9 months to secure even more supply, and to bring other suppliers up to speed. Honestly, the global market would mobilize to protect Samsung's chip and screen manufacturing if there was a real threat.
