Here is a church site that is sing iWeb. Some of the pages definately have the iWeb feel, but the site does work well for most church applications.

Like you we like the blogging features. The ony thing we wish we had was ability to migrate our site from one mac to another without having to use MobileMe.

Are you talking about the iWeb domain file (where iWeb saves its data)? You can place it on a flash drive that way you can update the site from different computers. sorry if I misunderstood you.

So here is mine

.

HERE IS MINE :)

At first glace it may seem like a template, but if you know IWeb, as you start to go thorough it hopefully you will realise all the differences. (background only loads once, album links diffrent, etc.) but play and let me know what you think..

THANKS

Hey Domh,
well im not going to lie, it was a bit of a bitch, but i think worth it in the end. especially since my county's internet is not amazing. Once the page is published to my HDD i made a folder in the 'main' folder called common. then added the background and the other common elements into it.
I then had to go into every HTML (and css file depending on the picture) file of each page and change the address of each common picture to that of them in the common file. (in the beginning it seems tedious and it is, but it gets faster as you start to learn where in the HTML the image is)

does this make scenes?

thanks and nice site too, i have to say i have a thing for swing. :)
i love the media player

I finally did mine with iWeb

This is my personal website, I did use bannerzest for the photos.

However my site does not scale well in iPhone, actually, all the flash part cannot be loaded on phone.

Still I feel I make it very un iwebish?

Fell free to commend so I could improve. :)

iweb showing in Search engines

Hi
I am very new to iweb.
Wondering if iweb is up to the commercial world of professional websites and competing with Dreamweaver in achieving top listings in Google Yahoo etc?

Actually it can if you use third party resources. I made a business out of it by making websites for my local businesses. I also use it to market IT stuff. iWeb is not perfect but it's also not a waste. You can make beautiful sites, fully customizable with effects and flash elements. You just need to do some outside coding to bring it up to snuff.

Some third party apps I use:
Graphics: Photoshop/Pixelmator
Icons/Buttons/graphics/Text: Art Text 2
Flash Banners/Effects: BannerZest Pro
SEO: iWeb SEO Tools
HTML Codes: Code Collector Pro (safe place to store my codes for scrolling text, shadowbox, video/audio players, etc)
FTP/Code Editor: Coda
SiteMaps/Search Engine Notification: RAGE Sitemap Automator
Reduce Site Size: WebCrusher

iWeb is easier to make a basic website, but to really use it beyond it's limitations you need to use other apps like the ones I listed above.

I hope this helps.

Non-iweb site? Perhaps mine

I am still exploring how to make an original site - using what I learn...
here's one of the sites i've designed using iweb 09.
www.thehealingartist.com

Now i'm working on a friend's site trying to figure out drop downs with out looking like the typical ones. wish me luck

I've never seen a fast-loading iWeb site. I haven't seen one that made it high on a search engine ranking either.

Got to user/library/application support/iweb - the file called 'domain' contains all your web info. You can move that from comp to comp.
