My TNT status has changed to "Time Constraint Prevented Delivery. Delivery At First Opportunity", which is typically vague. I assumed that first delivery would be Monday, as I was told on the phone, but on seeing that some have been promised delivery tomorrow I now don't know whether to go to the depot or not tomorrow morning.

What a farce.

I think we should try and make a map system next time of the UK so we can see all the places where people haven't recieved their Ipads. Arline is yours a TNT special delivery?

----------

Just changed to "Receiver not home. Follow up action underway. " without any vehicle turning up at all. I want some kind of compensation for this now it's beyond a joke.

Delivered

Mine arrived at 2pm on the dot from TNT
I had given up waiting and was leaving the house for work at 2pm when I saw a white and orange van with TNT on it. Decided to see if he would pull outside my house and he did.

Driver said that they have thousands that they are delivering and that their internal website has crashed under the strain.

Got mine at 9.30 this morning, from a very rushed and distressed UPS man. Have had nearly 12 hours of iPad 3 goodness and I am NOT disappointed so far, just want some of the apps to update to retina already!

Now I'm furious  Mines supposedly being delivered by TNT. My status was "out for delivery", its just changed to "Receiver not home", There are 5 of in the living room and I live on a tiny cul-de-sac, we know if any vehicles go up the road. Im going to their depot early tomorrow morning. As far as I'm concerned saying "receiver not home" when they haven't tried is totally unacceptable! Can't get through on the phone, TNT are terrible.
TNT have done this before to me. They will back their driver and say that a card was left.

Unfortunately UKMail are the same - they did this to me today too. I'll have to do the 40 mile round trip to get it tomorrow.

I'll see if they have some kind of call centre working in the morning at TNT and also contact Apple in the morning too. :(

Anyone know what "Held in Secure place" means in english... I'm guessing not at the depot? That doesn't sound quite right to me.

Mine turned up at 15:45 here in central London. Sorry for all those who didn't get theirs today. I'd buy you all a beer if you'd been in my local tonight.

I skipped the 2 (despite temptation) and the screen and speed of this thing is amazing. I read so much on my iPad 1 that this is worth it for the resolution alone.

Used TNT. Promised delivery today in central Cambridge. Still waiting at 21:25. TNT now say Saturday. From this incident, TNT stand for Terrible National Transport. Disgraceful.

Next time I'm standing in line. Waste a night not a day.

Don't know! I couldn't find a clue on their tracking page.

Btw my status also changed to "Time Constraint Prevented Delivery. Delivery At First Opportunity". Anyone called them to see when this "first opportunity" is?

She didn't know really she thought it would be tomorrow but who knows with TNT. Oh and I sent an email to tim cook just for fun, doubt it'll ever reach him.

It's supposed to be tomorrow before 1pm. But taking into all those they couldn't get to and all those they couldn't be bothered to get to, it might be later.

I just called TNT and they said it's gonna be Monday, then I told them that I'm pissed and I had to take a day off at work for the delivery and I can't do it on Monday... Then she offered a Saturday delivery before 12pm.

Call TNT immediately if you want it tomorrow, otherwise they'll just postpone them to Monday.

Cheers Arline, I didn't know it was 24/7 manned (TNT call centre) I urge anyone else who's had TNT troubles to phone them and explain what's happened.

I'm wondering if anyone will be in apple on mon should we all still have problems  they're in Ireland and it's a bank holiday there :(

Most likely. I'm very curious if our dear friend Tim ever reads emails from his customers.... You don't seem to be able to email Apple customer service too easily either which is quite odd for a technology company. They need some kind of call back system at least.

In fairness the guy I phoned at apple in Ireland was great and he did send over my exact directions to TNT each day as promised. It was just a shame TNT couldn't deliver a service today. My fingers are crossed for tomorrow morning... :)

Just trying to be positive and calm down now :)

Good luck to anyone that's still waiting or those who have issues with theri iPads (scratches etc).

TNT totally screwed up! They have 1000's left to deliver. I was waiting till 7pm before I called them and discovered my iPad is heading back to the depot! I rushed immediately to the depot (open till 9pm) and saw loads of drivers flat out, tired, stressed and all looking under pressure. The guy knew exactly why I was at the depot and said .. "you really have no idea the day we've had to go through, what's your consignment number" ..

Really pissed off that mine didn't arrive today, but I can spare a thought for the drivers.

I'm going to ring up UK Mail tomorrow and see if I can collect it from their depot.

according to UPS my package was "forgotten" in the depot so delivery only on Monday.

you can imagine my happy face, can't you?

TNT nightmare

I phoned TNT at 5:30pm the guy on the phone said it should be there by 6pm. 6pm nothing, phoned again on hold for 20 minutes told it will be Monday now! So I thought forget this went to Comet and bought one at 7pm, gets a knock at the door 9:20pm TNT ! So I refused the delivery, do I need to contact apple or will they automatically refund me?

JP

Didn't get my delivery from TNT Croydon and getting a bit worried due to a few iffy things.

Rang them at around 7pm. Told van broke down and being towed back...

Around 15 minutes before that an unmarked white van had pulled up outside my house. I had been waiting in all day. Seeing this I excitedly looked out, saw a man get out with a parcel so I ran downstairs. Looked out the window, and I see him walking out of someone elses garden and into his van and drive off.

Then the tnt tracker afterwards shows the item as being 'held in secure place'. Does that not mean given to someone else or hidden somewhere you have specifed such as a garage? It also has a spinning exclamation mark next to the consignment number. If they have given it to the house 2 doors down I will not be seeing it. They are a bastard family that cause problems on the street and it will be on ebay within hours. Even if I do get it wouldn't be surprised if they had had a 'play' with it.

Piss poor not getting it today. I'm off on a trip from Monday all next week and it's unlikely anyone will be able to pick up a redelivery if nothing arrives tomorrow. What happens now? Will it go back to Apple (assuming the house 2 doors along havn't got it) and automatic refund?
