Do you think Site-to-store will be available for preorders? How long do they hold the preorders at the store?
I want to do that but can't make it to the Apple Store until at least 3:00pm the afternoon of the 16th.

i dont want to start a new thread just for this but does best buy have any special iPad launch customs? Like the ticket give out they do for black friday or a preorder? Is it just first come first serve normal retail style? I'd love to preorder from apple but i have a $400 gift card i saved from xmas so it wouldn't make any sense to ignore that...
The fees will be checked from the card before the pre-order is made with their system. Then the fees will be charged from your card at the time of shipment.

Think about this, it can't be any worse than the iPhone 4S preorder fiasco when AT&T's account verification systems went down.
I gave major kudos to Apple after that though, for instituting a reserving system that allowed you to come back and finalize the order once the systems were restored. They came up with it on the fly in under an hour.

I have $1200 on a card and I want to preorder a new iPad for myself along with a Apple TV... and then a iPad for my wife as well. If they charge for everything up front then drop it and charge again during shipping, I can't get hers as well.
What I really want to do is pick our three items up at the store. I hope they let me do this!

The button at the bottom of the screen didn't work for me (same error as others) but the button at the top right of the iPad page is loading for me. It hasn't pushed through yet, but just spoke with Apple Telesales, since they use the Apple online store to place their orders, they're down as well.
