Still no luck over here.

This is getting outrageous. I've been sitting by my computer for almost five hours.

Maybe, but the store didn't take down the "We'll be back" page until around 11:45am. It is 2:45PM now. Not sure what you were expecting for the other 2 hours. Apple's procedure is not new.

I kept trying to get into the store with my MBP using Safari with no luck. So i broke out the old iPad 1 and gave that a try. Store was a little slow but the order went thru without a hitch.

16 gb Black wifi

Email says delivery on the 16th.

Almost 20 minutes later, but I did finally get my confirmation email. Now to take next friday off and hang out waiting for the FedEx guy to show up. :D

Just ordered a 2nd one...another White 64GB 4g LTE...but got Verizon. It looks like they have 4G coverage in Charleston, and ATT does not. So I'll be returning the 64GB White 4G ATT one.

The store was up very briefly. Really not difficult to believe when they're not the only person reporting success.

After about 100 tries, I got through and got my order placed.

For those who are still trying, repetition will pay off!

I picked free shipping because it said "delivers on March 16th". So does this mean I'll have it on that date, since it didn't say "ships on March 16th". I did this because I could have sworn that last year people were getting their two-day shipping refunded because they all came around the same time.

In my experience, you'll get it on the 16th.

I got in at about 1:15PM Pacific Time, using Firefox on PC, and successfully ordered 2 of the iPad3 in black with 16GB/wifi (MC705LL/A). Received a confirmation email from Apple about 8 minutes later.

Took me a couple hundred tries to get into the store, get a cart loaded, get to checkout screens, and complete checkout.

I'm just glad I don't have to spend weeks, like I did with the iPad2, checking stores for inventory and finally getting one with colors and features I didn't even want.

It does mean that you'll get it on the 16th (unless, of course, something goes wrong, but that it what Apple means, so you did good to stick with free shipping)

Finally got some sort of confirmation of mine. I was able to get in and struggle to the finish line ordering shortly after the keynote. I got an order# but no confirmation email. I was concerned for a while whether it actually went through in time or if I was gonna get backordered but I guess the confirmation emails just got backed up and/or dropped because I just checked my credit card statement and it's indeed being charged (which is confirmation enough for me).

Looking forward to my first tablet!

Got mine just now, It will be my first Ipad. Are they as great as you all make them seem? :D

After several tries I got my order through. 64gig black with Verizon LTE. The order shows as "processing" and I haven't gotten a confirmation email yet...

I cannot get an order through and I'm getting pissed. I can understand not enough actual product but to not have your website infrastructure in place to handle high traffic is asinine and the cynic in me says they do it on purpose.

After numerous tries got in.... 64GB Black 3G AT&T

Called the Employee Purchase Plan # my company offers, and got $20 off, I asked jokingly <wink, wink> if he ould throw in a Smart Cover for the wait, and he surprisingly did :D

Is it March 16th yet????
