I honestly don't see that as a hint. passbook is very different from a traditional NFC. Again, have we seen anything in the software indicating that it will be NFC compatible? As it stands, passbook is basically a glorified cardstar.

Well obviously. The current iPhones don't have NFC, so you can't do anything that NFC does yet.

No, that is not what I am referring to. I am referring to code, which "tweakers" mess around with to find said hidden features. For example there is evidence of the elongated resolution support in current iOS6 builds already. That would be a solid hint of things to come. What we have seen thus far isn't really a hint at all. It's a feature coming to all phones that support iOS 6, not unlike the app I linked (and by the way said app is REALLY good).
