Are the iPhone leaks real or fake?

I understand your hesitation and if it were any other product I'd be right there with you. But after having seen multiple iPhone releases with parts leaks, I'm willing to go all out and call this one legit w/o hesitation.

What I'm wondering is, how difficult would it be for Apple to fake some consistent part leaks and would it be in their best interests?

It would be very difficult because it's nearly impossible for a company such as Apple to keep a product such as the iPhone under wraps.

I don't really mind the design, except for the taller unibody (not screen) I wish Apple could fit a 3:2 aspect ratio 4 inch screen into the same unibody size as the 4S...

who ever said that is blind lol. Iphone 4 looks miles better then the 3gs.
+ It was a big update. This one not.

here is a link to the MR thread when the images were first leaked.

And here are a few of the comments. There are all just on the first page

I hope not. That looks hideous!

Simple answer: no.

Buttons are entirely un-Apple, there are seams...

If this is it then I'm getting a 3GS instead. This thing is hideous.

looks like an ugly sony ericsson phone. The design is VERY un apple like, down to the seams and the buttons

going to go on a limb and say. no.

This looks horrendous.

I hope they can boot this thing. Also more photos from the back and front!

Unlikely.

What wouldn't surprise me is if this is a prototype build with the new internals and a really hideous body.

But even that is pushing it. This looks like a fake. Tear it open. The first thing I would do if I found it is take pictures of it while it was on and working and then, if Apple didn't come after me, tear it apart.

Seams are pretty hideous. Apple made a big point of removing any seams that it could between the 2G and the 3G. This is a major step backwards if it has seams.

Well then maybe if we start saying the leaked phone looks beautiful, it won't be the real thing :)

Since saying its not didn't work in the past lol

Personally, I love the new rumored design. I don't see how ppl say it is the same as the iPhone 4 design
Differences:
Thinner
Back material change
Lip over glass
Back color change
FaceTime camera move
Redesigned speaker grill
Moved headphone jack
New SIM card style (maybe)
Smaller top/bottom bezels

Similarities:
Flat on both sides
Home button.
Corners with same radii
Home button
Volume buttons

I mean really there is more change here then between the original iPhone and the 3G.
I don't see why everyone is crazy for the teardrop, I don't see how that will let them continue to have the thinnest available phone. The thick part would have to be iPhone 4 thick to accommodate the battery. Really the no curved back design allows the most amount of useable internal space allowing the device to be crazy thin.

Personally I think this new design is a hit and is a great redesign.

Of yeah, the Galaxy S2 and S3 are have less differences then the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 rumors but yet I don't see complaints about that on the android forums.

I'll give you the bigger screen, but the iPhone 5 is supposed to be thinner than the S3 at 7.6mm. The S3 does not have a new design. The corners are just rounded off which give it the illusion of being a revamped design.

I still fail to see how the iPhone with glass on the front and rear and metal on the sides is a piece of garbage compared to a phone with polycarbonate and plastic. I'm not saying the S3 is ugly, but like Geckotek said, it won't be winning any design awards any time soon.

Majority doesnt care about phone being thinner... It actually should be thicker for the purpose of better battery life... Especially knowing this 4" design does not give so much more room for extra battery...

I guess it s not current direction...

I've been burned before with leaks and rumors so all I'm saying is I'm not going to believe anything 100% until the actual product comes out. I'm not saying that you can't. I just won't. Wow, something wrong with that? I'm pretty much convinced that most of the leaks are accurate and I have an idea of how the new iPhone will look. But it's never FOR SURE until it actually arrives.

What leaks have you exactly been burned by? Every leak within the last couple years have been real (ex. iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2). If you're talking about last year's "tear-drop" iPhone, that wasn't a leak. Those were renders by websites that were made to show what the supposedly next iPhone would look like.

Well it certainly gives more room than the 4S does now.

I am not saying that it is the same as 4S. I just do not want a longer screen. To me, a longer AND a wider screen is more practical. One reason this rumor might be true is that if Apple wanted to make the screen wider, they would have to either make it too wide to fit 5 icons per row or make the spaces between icons wider causing the interface to look sloppy.

Don't we all :( Apple wants to make money, not give the customers what they want.

And the cases, that's what I fell for.

It's like the 4S on viagra. Lets hope for a little more width. I know I know, that's what she said.

That makes no sense. Apple makes money by giving the customers (whey Apple thinks) they want. If they made something the customers didn't want, nobody would buy it and Apple wouldn't make money.
