I posted it because it gives a good look into what the players brought to the table. There isn't any new news because nothing has happened.
I am beginning to if we will have a season-
if they think talking about the mortgages of guys buying 5 million dollar homes while making 9 million a year is an issue, then they are far more apart than we think and the players will not given one inch.

I realized that I still have that NHL Network, so I'm going to call and cancel it as a small protest. Even though it's only $5 a month (and the NHL doesn't even get the whole five), I don't think they deserve any of my money right now- especially since I'm not even using that channel.
Such morons, the lot of them.

While I'm excited, I don't want to get my hopes up. I want it to happen/it needs to happen.
To be fair, it'll be greed on both sides.
I feel like the NHLPA will come back with a decent counter. From all the news, the sides might not be too far off. It would need to get done this week to keep the 82 game schedule.
If NHLPA rejects a portion of it, peace out season. Smart move by Bettman to say he wants to do all 82 games.
I feel good about this ... it would be a shame to cancel the season.

It was smart of the NHL to get to 50/50 so quickly. It was bound to get to that at some point, but everyone expected that to take another few months. There might be hope for a season this year, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

50/50 is the magic number, and that's where it's gonna be. All the other leagues are at that, so you're not gonna get it any better.

As per various tweets, expect a counter offer within the next 24-48 hours. Apparently the offer wasn't as well-received by the PA as it was by us.
i know-but if they want us to keep support them then they better take it. They are welcome to make adjustments, but dont reject it. Accept is as a framework and deal with the details.
