No it doesn’t.

Bought 8+.

Will wait 3-4 years for notch removal.

Thanks.
Yes it does.

Bought an X.

Will keep it for 3-4 years and end up with the same "perfect" phone that you want anyway.

Thanks.

I'd much rather have the notch than the bezels of previous iPhones.
Amen to that, and the fact that I don't want to walk around with what is essentially a small tablet in my pocket.

Team Notch keeps on winning!

Team Notch keeps on winning!
Indeed, but in all fairness I'm getting the X because:

- Why would you get an 8 when the X was just around the corner?
- It's Apples flagship without the heft of a plus being lumped around in your pocket
- It does everything I want of a current generation phone
- It dares to be different and gives me a different experience
- The notch has nothing to do with it

At the end of the day though, it is just a phone, but a phone that has a premium quality about it. Notch or no notch, it won't change my phone habits, but it will make its usage a more pleasurable one compared to my SE. Same with buying a new car. It doesn't change how I get from A to B but it make the journey a bit more pleasurable and gives me something new to fiddle with.

I actually quite like the notch after having used it for nearly a week now I hardly notice it at all in my day to day use and I like the quirky and unique aspect of it.

I'm perfectly fine with people not liking it, but I do find it funny that the majority of people complaining have never used an X at all and if they have it was handling it in a store for 5 minutes or so. It also makes me laugh that they seem to not be willing to allow anyone to claim they genuinely like the design anyone who claims to must be blind or a sheep or whatever.

Oh liking the design is absolutely fine! I also agree that you most likely wouldn't notice it after a couple of days
But the idea that it was a consciously thought out, aesthetically brilliant design is a joke..

Please tell us how YOU would have done it instead...

Since you are asking.....🙂
May be Apple should have reduced the top bezel last year (Iphone 7) before Samsung did it in S8 this year - That way, they wouldn't have looked like copycats this year!

the only thing that pissed me off about the notch is trying to apply a screen protector and align it with the notch

otherwise I could not care any less about it

Well it's there for functionality considering its filled with components, I don't remember that being a 'style' selling point...Apple chose to surround it with some usable area rather than lose some real estate that would use more screen below it. I'd say its a plus.

Sigh....it's a phone. Either models will do....while............I'll use a latest tech that will keep me for 2-3 years.

More like a distinction. I don't think they did it for style. Either way, they released the 8's for people like you.
