They almost did it with the new X, and some idiot at Apple said, "I think the public can deal with the notch"! Sorry Steve..we're just not pioneer thinkers anymore!

There will be enough iPhone X's sold that the notch design will be validated, like it or not. I'm personally indifferent, don't mind it either way. What I don't like is when I run an app that has not yet been updated for iPhone X – I'm talking to you Microsoft and Google – I don't see the notch because the apps don't yet take advantage of the full screen surface! Show me the notch!

You are probably right on that time frame. I hear a lot about how the notch will be gone next year. No chance. No way. This was a design decision and the tech won't allow Face ID to work without it. I've got a year to prep myself for the X Plus (if it happens) and accepting the notch on that phone. Thankfully if the screen is bigger and wider, I won't fret too much about my decision to purchase it. If nothing changes, if the X is revised but stays the same size? Looks like I'm with the 8+ for a while.
