I'm so happy for Marty, though I'd love to still have him on the Sabres. He certainly deserves to be a #1 goaltender and he more than paid his dues in Buffalo with nary a complaint.

Rangers are playing uninspired, lazy, messy hockey. I can't remember a game where they looked worse than they looked tonight. They better figure out what to do with all that bottled up talent.

I love it! :D

Bill Guerin with a Hat Trick (not to mention his first goals as an Islander) as the Isles beat the Caps 5-2.

Glad to see they got back in the win column after dropping 2 games.

Schedule wise..... WTF is up with it? The Isles haven't played since last Saturday. Then after this coming Sat game they won't play for a week!!! What is this tomfoolery? At least I'll be at the game though on Sat!

Mmmmm..... hockey

Big win for the Isles tonight as they almost blew it. Guerin saves the day with the game winner with 3.7 left in OT. Also, there was a Miroslav Satan sighting tonight as he scored his first goal of the season.

I improve to 3-0 in which I attend a game. Keeping the dream alive baby!

I don't see my Flyers slowing down anytime soon. So glad there doing good, last year was terrible.

i saw them on sat. night in boston... terrible... no offense what so ever.
Only good news is that i caught a puck from savard during warmups

How about Jonathan Toews' goal against Colorado the other day?

Simply amazing. Is the goal of the year so far.

Holy snikes!!!! Awesome!

Miro Satan had a pretty sick goal on Saturday.... makes me wonder where the hell he's been all season. My friend and I likened him to being like a stuck player in NHL '94. (aka going in circles)

Go Sens!

Can MN lose already!?! Coming out of no where with 7-0!

<--- Go COLORADO, BLACKHAWKS, & SABRES! :D

Hello puck heads! Where art thou?

Tonight was Al Arbour night at the Coliseum. He coached his 1500th game and got his 740th win as an Islander.

The game was amazing, easily being the 2nd best game I've seen in person. (The first being Easter Epic Part Deux in NJ last season).

Congrats to Al Arbour and the Islanders!

I improved to 5-1 while attending games. Keeping that dream alive baby!

This fan's waiting for Ryan Miller to find his All-Star form.

The Sabres lost a lot more than just Briere and Drury...they've lost their drive. Hope they find it soon, or it's going to be one long, mediocre season.

Time for a thread revival in honor of the Sabres' revival. Yes, they lost tonight, but they're back in the thick of things. Miller's finding his groove in goal, and the offense is coming to life. Playoffs here we come!

And for me, its great to see Luongo and the Canucks heating up 2 months ahead of last years schedule!

9-1-2 in November and 3 consecutive shutouts. Woohoo!

hey how about my pens? :)

I'm so glad the NHL has agreed to change the schedule (although I would have preferred a guaranteed home-and-home every year). I know *nothing* about any teams in the east (except for the Leafs, Toronto Sports Net makes sure I know about them).

Any eastern conference games are early enough I'm still at work and can't see them, and games with the west just didn't happen!

So how are the Pens doing? I think this year they are coming to Vancouver for the first time since before the lockout! We'll finally get to see Sid.

well we were a little slow staring, however we are really picking it up now..Last in the division right now, but we are not out in any means. (however Gonchar is hurt, but still the leading defender in points!)

You'll love watching Sid (as long as you're not a Penguins hater, or Caps lover) he really puts on a great show.

Yeah spoke waaaay too soon..

The first two periods were horrible, and we started to pick it up in the 3rd however we pulled our goalie too early (in my opinion, it was about 1:45 left..) and they scored an open netter.. so the final score was 4-2 I believe..

The 3rd period looked so awesome, if only we had played like that from the beginning. Oh well there is always monday against the coyotes!

anyone see the news tonight with the zamboni on fire

Holy crap!

On a related story did anyone else see my Pens play an actual physical game against phoenix?! Hm...maybe we should try that more often! If they even look slow and sluggish on wed. I am going to be pretty upset.

Anyone know where I can find the stats that say how long the puck was in each zone? I looked on the pen's website, but couldn't find it.

Honestly, I have no opinion about either the Pens or the Caps. It's really hard to care about a team you never see (At least I can tell you who the star players on those teams are, by virtue of media coverage. I honestly can't even tell you who plays on the Islanders, the Rangers, the Sabres, or the Bruins because I can't tell you the last time I saw them play us).

The last half of the game was great -- we sucked for the first half, then finally woke up and it turned into a really good contest. The YVR fans certainly got their money's worth out of that (did you see the replay of a *very* canny Sid lifting Aaron Miller's stick to turn a "caught" breakaway into a penalty shot? Brilliant move)

This may sound funny, but it was good to see Sabourin get the win, and play so well. I felt sorry for him last year -- its funny to think that he "played" a year for Vancouver but this was his first ever time playing in GM place.

As for the required scheduling complaining -- funny how even though the Pens were on their "western road swing" the 'Nucks had travelled more miles in less time, and really didn't even get to go home (they came in the night before and were leaving back on the road the night after) :(

I wish Buttman would get his head out of his @$$ realize that a few vested interests around New York are not acting in the best interests of the league, and figure out that (a) such an unbalanced travel schedule between teams is causing a huge rift and (b) Having the biggest star in the sport make his debut in Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver *three years* after he entered the league is only going to widen that.

The new schedule is an improvement but *why* did they turn down an offer from the NHLPA to get guaranteed home and home games for every team?

Okay end of rant.
