Not sure if this has been discussed previously in this (massive) thread, but does anyone else find it extremely irritating that the BBC change the start time of Doctor Who seemingly at random every week?

6.20, 6.30, 6.40, 7.00, 7.05... just pick a slot and leave it there!

To late
This Saturday 7.10 Kick off
Saturday after 6.40

even the last Xmas special didn't start at 7

Speaking of specials
Apparently episode 13 "Journey's End" is weighing in at 65mins

add that to the 50mins of episode 12 and that's basically a feature length movie

That is just what I was hoping for, but it is horrible for anyone watching them on the sci-fi channel. When the run time is longer than 41 mins, they just cut stuff out.

I was horrified to learn during last years season finally the entire scene when the master is dancing around at the beginning to 'i can't decide' was just cut out when sci-fi aired it. And that was great scene!

wouldn't dare cut into any of their precious add time.

I hope you're not insinuating that Leeds is a horrible place to live, because if you are step out your door step and take a look at Hull. Leeds is a great place to live. Great Uni's, nice countryside surroundings...
I've stepped out of my door and noted that we also have a great university and nice countryside too. We also have a Premier League football team. :)

I wouldn't feel like you're been badly done to – read back to this time last year and I wrote something not too dissimilar about Hull after it was featured in Blink – if you remember, Kathy was zapped back to 1920s Hull due to the touch of a Weeping Angel. Mind, she met a nice bloke rather than having to share a bathroom with an Italian family, so we probably did better out of it than you. :D

Ya know i'd gladly miss a week of dr who if only they would put on the final 2 episodes as a feature length, cos the gab between them is going to be hell, wonder how many times I'll watch it on sky+ before the finale?

Yeah, it's definitely going to be rough! Mind you, I've waited with anticipation for BSG cliffhangers to be resolved in the past, and some of those have taken almost a year, so I guess one week won't be too bad... ;)

Yeah well get ready for a whole of pain in 2009 then
I just saw a rumour that the four 2009 specials are going to be show on

1 Easter 2009
2 Xmas Eve 2009
3 Xmas Day 2009
4 New Years Day 2010:eek:

Probably total BS:rolleyes:

I hope so - that would really suck. But, I guess if it gives Mr. Moffat more time to make Season "5" the best one ever, then that's a price we'll have to pay... ;)

cant wait for these last two episodes:D

Right! everything sorted,
EyeTV programmed for the next week and ready to go
sweet

...EyeTV...

Always wanted someone to ask - how's your eyeTV setup? At our house we need a roof aerial to get any decent reception... so I've always been a bit turned off the idea - given that i'd need to trapse a whole load of coax all over the place...

Fortunately I have line of sight to the local transmitter so I can use the EyeTV DTT with an internal aerial and a signal booster. I occasional get some interference in the winter on the some of the underpowered multiplexs (usually the one that Channel 5 uses) but i almost always get an excellent picture on the BBC Channels.

The only trouble is that you have to keep on top of what you've recorded otherwise your hard drive fills up pretty quick ( One episode of Top Gear takes up 2.3GB Dr Who takes up 1.8GB)
the really cool thing is because it records in Mpeg2 you can burn programmes to DVD using Toast without having to re-encode the file giving you really good picture quality.

I've had it for almost 3 years now and use it almost every day i hardly bother to turn on my TV any more i just watch every thing on my 20" imac.

Mmmm that was pretty gripping. Can't wait for the last episode.

They pulled the series together well IMO...

Erm... he can't? Surely? I mean, he can't... right?

Basically because I'm 99.9% sure that... David Tennant is in the Christmas special. So either it's not a full regeneration, or it is a full regeneration and he physically remains the same (due to them being displaced into the time pocket, perhaps?), or the Christmas special is either a flashback or a multiple Doctor story.

I normally like to speculate a bit and can usually think of a possible solution or two for the cliff hangers but I'll admit – I'm properly baffled by this one.
