WTF Fedex. :( If it's any later than that I'm not going to have time to use it before I go out this evening.

Purolator says Shipment In Transit from TORONTO SORT CTR/CTR TRIE, ON.
OCTOBER 25, 2007 AT 19:11. I hope that it gets here to me in Edmonton by tomorrow or it will be a long weekend!

I phoned Purolator this morning (twice). Once before 10:30 AM and they had no update. Second time, I phoned after 10:30 and they "think" that the order is on a truck somewhere between Toronto, Ontario and here (Calgary, Alberta). They think that the order is being shipped GROUND :( which makes no sense to me since Apple insists the contrary... I phoned Apple and they said that it was sent Overnight Priority.

I am hoping that it arrives today but I am doubtful because Purolator sucks. If it does not arrive today, I will be phoning Apple again to complain about them using Purolator to ship. Purolator has the worst service in Canada. If they attempt a delivery then I have to go downtown the next day to pick up - and they are only open in normal business hours and NOT on weekends. UPS and FedEx both are open later and both are available on weekends... in fact, UPS will attempt a second delivery on Saturdays (and sometimes twice in one day. In addition, FedEx and UPS will bend over backwards if you phone them and ask for an AM or PM delivery so that you can actually go out if you are expecting a delivery.

Anyway, I hope that other people start to complain to them about Purolator so that Apple will get the message. Even the Purolator tracking system sucks: it is not real-time updated like other carriers and even if you do phone them, they know nothing more than what you can see on the Internet - IF your order shows up.

My plan is that if they don't deliver today, then I will refuse delivery and buy it in a store. That way Apple has to pay 2X shipping as a penalty for using a ****** carrier and I will get a full refund.

Got it

It was delivered at 10am sharp; 30 min early of posted limit. Installed and boy is it FAST, for get snappy; FAST. Only install issue, it insisted on an erase and install. Very happy.:D:apple:

Fedex attempted delivery just before 3PM, but no one was home (i'm at work). I called them up and they said they wouldn't be attempting re-delivery until Monday, but that I can pick it up from the shipping center after 6:30PM. Anyone else in/near Santa Clara, CA going to the Fedex center near San Jose airport to pickup their missed deliveries? Unofficial Leopard gathering, eh!

My little story because I need pretty badly to vent; skip this post if you wish.

I'm in Vancouver, BC. Been stoked for Leopard since they announced it. Placed my pre-order right away. Was mega excited to see "On Truck for Delivery" on my Purolator order status this morning, and went off to school, anticipating my weekend off work where I could install and enjoy Leopard.

Returned from school at 2PM to see that "scheduled delivery appointment required" was the new status. Well, that was odd--I was not going to be home due to work but my roommates would be, so I figure I will just call and schedule a delivery for later in the day. No biggie, I wasn't going to be home until later anyway.

So I call Purolator, and they explain that they can't drop it off today, and furthermore, can't drop off until Monday. The other option is that they can drop it off at a depot and I can pick it up before they close at 7:30 PM. I say, sure--and promptly head to work where I have to request to leave early so that I can get there in time; the depot I am instructed to go to to pick up my package is near the airport and I am about an hour away. So management graciously lets me leave early and I hop the bus to head down to the airport with excitement.

An hour later and fifteen minutes before the depot closes I arrive at Purolator and give the (extremely rude) woman behind the counter my information and she goes to grab my shipment. About ten minutes pass and she comes back out, telling me that there is no shipment there for me.

What?

She tells me that it is sitting at a different depot, in Richmond, even further away from my place than I am currently. I am obviously extremely disappointed, being that I was given this location specifically by the Purolator employee on the phone earlier, and both the depot I am at and the depot that my package is at are now closing, so there is no way I can get it tonight. The rude woman practically throws a Purolator business card at me and suggests I call Purolator's customer service center to complain. I leave, frustrated and disappointed after my hour-long trip.

So I am walking back in the dark towards the airport bus depot and pull out my phone to call Purolator's service center--not to complain, but just to figure out what the hell is going on (I've worked in customer service for years and no one likes a bitchy customer, so I always make sure to be nice to retail clerks). I get hold of a nice woman on the other end of the line whom I give my information to, to make sure that my package is actually at this other depot so that I can get up tomorrow morning and make another trip over an hour away from my place to pick up Leopard.

The woman on the other end of the line informs me:
1) The person I originally spoke to who told me to go to the airport depot was correct and all packages get sent there.
2) The rude woman at the counter was completely off base and my package was indeed not at the Richmond depot.
3) ...And unfortunately, it's not at the airport depot either.

...What?

Turns out through some miracle of insolence, my package was actually dropped off around 5:00 PM at a Purolator shipping location ten minutes from my house.

And they're closed for the weekend.

Monday. :(
