So many different foods to indulge in (way too much)

My favorite is poutine

I will probably not live past 50

Québecois cheesy chips.

Okay - thanks a lot for the explanation: Much appreciated.

And, the next question, are they tasty?

French fries topped with cheese curds and a brown sauce

I am pretty sure there are some places in europe that started serving it, or it might be just in France

Thanks a lot - again, appreciated - I had a feeling that this was a regional speciality.

I'm pretty widely travelled, and I have never come across them, or a reference to them.

It's widely considered one of the quintessential Québecois, if not Canadian, cuisines--right up there with maple syrup.

Obviously I think they are, but depends on each individual tastes:)

Never tried them. But many people rate them highly…
But then again, some think Deep fried Mars Bars are edible.
:)

Well, obviously, Deep Fried Mars Bars wouldn't be on my list of favourite dishes, but I am rather partial to some nibbles, especially those that hit that spot where salty meets sweet.

Maple syrup - good quality maple syrup - on pancakes, crepes, waffles, or - as served to my mother - on French toast - is superb.

Fair enough, but you are conversing with someone who has thoroughly enjoyed French fries with mayonnaise in Brussels (and damned delicious it was, too).

Is there any other way to eat fries? Other than in poutine that is ;)

It is not as easy to describe the dish as it actually is more complex than it looks. The cheese curds will mostly always taste the same, but texture could vary slightly. The sauce will be different depending on who makes it and therefore can be a totally different experience from one restaurant to the next. Even the fries will alter it one way or another, due to the fact that there's no universal way to cut a potato. And then there are different variety of potatoes.

And even if discounting all these factors, unless you are a super fast eater the dish will not taste the same as when you started when taking the last bites. You could end up with soggy fries if there was too much sauce, or finish with just a few dry fries if there wasn't enough.

I'm probably not making it sound appetizing haha

Rice. I can eat a thousand grains in one sitting.:D:D Hail, I DO eat a thousand grains (give or take 200 grains:p) in a sitting...every day!

I kid, I kid. As for guilty pleasure foods, I gotta say fudge brownies, especially the corner or side portions. I've lost count of the number of times I've burned my lips and tongue because I couldn't wait for fresh bake brownies to cool.

Pizza. Jaffas[1]. Tim Tams[2]. Toffee Pops[3]. Chips. None of these are particularly good for me so I try not to keep any in the house!

[1] Hard orange shell that turns soft after sucking for ~30 seconds. Chocolate inside.
[2] Apparently you can find these in the US now - chocolate-covered biscuits with a choc cream filling.
[3] Biscuit base, toffee on top, then the whole thing covered in chocolate.

True story - when I was about 10 or 11 years old, we were having spaghetti for dinner. It was cheap, and we weren't particularly well-to-do, so many of our meals were of the type that cost little but go a long way to fill you up. My stepfather hated it, but you do what you have to do.

During this spaghetti dinner, I said out loud, "I don't think I would ever get tired of eating spaghetti."

My stepfather, being the self-proclaimed "***hole" (his word, not mine) that he is, told my mother in secret to serve spaghetti every day for lunch and dinner until I got tired of it.

Eleven days later, he threw in the towel and told my mother to go back to changing up the menu. It was not until I was well into adulthood that I learned of the order, but I do remember eating a LOT of spaghetti and loving every bit of it. Even to this day it's one of my favorites, and it doesn't matter how recently I had it, it always sounds good.

macadamia nuts

When I've gotten them in the shell, cracking them was an adventure, as they take something like 300 lb/s of force per square inch to crack. Nothing like busting out the vice grips and hammer after quite a few beers...
