The Perfect Desk for the 27"?

I'm thinking about getting the TBDisplay so that my 13" MBA doesn't get too lonely when I'm away. For this I need to get a proper desk. What do you guys think is the perfect depth (width?) for a desk that can fit 27" nicely and still have decent amount of room in front for a keyboard but still to be compact for a small apartment?
